the only thing the lariat has that I'd want on my fx4 is the digital climate controls.

 

I think this is a stupid option. I mean, it's good in that now you can better outfit a truck you want. But one of the big praises when the '04 F150 first debuted was the differences between cabins; with the previous gen F150, an F150 is an F150 is an F150, don't matter whether it was an XLT, a Lariat or Lariat/FX4. Now you can option out an FX4 to where it's very damn close to a Lariat. There's nothing really exclusive or special to the Lariat anymore, other than the grill, some color selections and the instrument cluster. Smooth move Ford. I guess the same dumbass that thought of the Mark LT came up with this options package too, raid the corporate parts bin for everything, and before too long, we'll have trucks that are pretty much all the same.

and those Lariat guys who wanted to switch out the woodgrain for the carbon fiber, it appears they would be able now since both dash pieces have the oval shaped electronic climate controls.

 

I started with a loaded/leather trim front seats 04 FX4 scab, traded for an 05 loaded 05 Lariat screw, now just went back to another loaded/leather trim front seats 06 FX4 scab. All that Lariat stuff - especially the damn gray dash/center console on a tan interior, wasn't for me, think I got a keeper this time....

oh yea, the back seats on my Lariat were "luxury vinyl", not leather trimmed like the fronts.

 

I seen A pic in 26point2's Gallery of a different gauge cluster is it an FX4 luxury one, it looks like a Lariat but Grey

Cool, as far as the luxuary package i'd love to get it, even though you can now switch basically any model parts XLT,STX,FX4,Lariat, you can customize your truck straight from dealer
