Very disappointed in the 5.4L

Took a ride in my buddys 06 Lariat with the 5.4 and his truck doesn't feel much quicker than my 2wd xl V6. That thing is a turd compared to the Hemi. I hope that those aftermarket tuners wake the motors up as much as people claim they do...

admittedly they arent the most powerful thing from the factory, but they have the torque to make up for it. not racing torque, but towing power, i think it really redeems itself there. with mods, it can be a screamer, a few people can attest to that

I raced a 2wd hemi from a roll, not much of a difference. the f-150 is by far the best TRUCK! Not a race car. Hence it not being a car. So if your looking for a truck that's fast, buy a lightning or something. It gets real old seeing post of how the f150 sucks and is slow etc etc. That's not the purpose of building these trucks.

Surprising to me. I find mine fine for what it is. I think it is plenty of power, but I am tuned. Keep in mind I have owned 2 forced inductioned 5.3's before this truck, and I know what power feels like. I enjoy my truck and 5.4

Do you honestly think you would see so many people on here with cat-backs (btw a SIDO is not dual exhaust) if they made you loose power? I dropped around half a sec on my 0-60 time and gained 1/2 a MPG with my Banks system.
I know your a post happy kid that realy doesn't have a clue about 90% of what he talks about but please at least think before you post.

I know it's not totally considered duals unless theres 2 mufflers. With flowmaster I lost low end torque.. and I was fine with that because I thought I had enough torque anyway...with flowmaster si/do your gonna lose low end torque because you lose backpressure because you go from 2.5" stock inlet to 3"...

I have tried to be nice and I keep saying to myself "be nice...at least he's not into Honda's and Nissan's like most kids his age". But damn he seems to be getting worse and worse with his posting. He posts even when he has nothing to say at all....if he was talking I would say he is talking just to here himself talk.

people see the 300hp and they goo weeeeee cause if a car has 300hp its gonna be rather quick...
HA!... thats funny stuff..

my stock 5.4 XLT with SI/DO can go faster then a speeding ticket!!

I personally am tired of seeing threads whining about how slow these trucks are. They are TRUCKS, built for towing and hauling cargo not a$$. Take 2000 lbs. off the F150 and it would move, put this stock 5.4 in the Mustang GT and it would keep pace with the Corvette. Tweak it and it would outrun the Corvette, easily. If someone is after performance do not buy the F150, get a Lightning or an SRT10. If those same people are looking for a work truck that you can enjoy spending alot of time in, the F150 is worth a look.

A 300HP iron block engine in a Mustang GT would not keep up with a stock 400HP aluminum block LS2 Corvette....sorry, you are very wrong.

Obviously....all I read was that you think that if you put the 3v 5.4L truck motor in a Mustang GT it would out run a lighter and much more powerful Corvette. After I read that I pretty much figured you had no idea what you were talking about and didn't dig any deeper into the post to try to figure out what the point was. Sorry.
