With a coilover shock setup, you can adjust the vehicles height by changing the position of the coil mount on the shock. It doesn't change spring or shock rates at all.

I'll be the first to admit that I am by no means a suspension expert, but I don't understand howthe shocks are going to raise the truck up without replacing the springs or putting in spacers?

I know what a coil-over is and a coil-over isn’t a "shock". Semantics I know but it is what it is…

Well these setups, like the Bilstein and Rancho I personally consider a hybrid coil-over. They are a shock with a collar on them that holds a threaded spring seat to adjust the spring load. Either way they are closer to coil-overs then shocks IMO and are a much cheaper cost then most "coil-overs" like Donahoe, King, and so on.

I was just ready to buy the rancho triplex's then saw this. I thought the bilstiens in my ranger fx4 works great, but have had several rancho lifts in my older f150's. I have never had the 9000's before. Does anyone have any pros or cons on either choice? Good find lr06fx4!
