I was going to go to the guy in oklahoma, but then I would have to buy a SCT tuner. So I talked to one of my dealers(Manny at HPP Motorsports in Lewisville,Tx) through work and I'm going to go through him for my dynotuning.

There probably couldnt be more than 25 or so really popular combos...then for everyone else a true custom tune would be needed.
.. unless of course your truck's PCM won't go open-loop from the factory.
Or, you have one that is running 15:1 A/F's when 12:1 is being commanded. Or, you have done some mod that only by datalogging can you determine the impact of said mod. It's a systemic problem ( e.g. the A/F's) hence, every truck will be different.

THAT's why you need to datalog - to be SAFE. Not to mention there are WAY more than 25 different PCM codes, plus many different strategies within those codes. And new ones being added all the time...

Troyers tunes are good, better then most, but not the best. There is a guy in florida, then another in oklahoma that have really got a grasp on these new 3v's. Alot of told me they have knocked off .1-.3 in the 1/4 with these guy's tunes over troyers tune.

Just a little fyi....
...and, Mike has stated many times that he tunes for safe & sustainable power, rather than producing the maximum possible. Safety is paramount for long-term reliability, which is the direction he has chosen to take.

I'm sure you could find folks who can pull better et's, as I'm also sure that Mike could as well, if asked (race tune), and the customer was willing to assume the risks...

Justin is a great tuner and he helps out a LOT on the SCT forums - and he is a Mustang tuner - Mike is foremost an F150 tuner, and the two platforms are somewhat different. No one knows F150's like Mike

I am using an XCAL2 tunned by MIke on the dyno...

I am not saying his tune WILL make the most HP; I'm not saying his is the *BEST*; I will say though that I am very satisified with his tunes.. The driveability and the way the truck shifts and where it shifts are great.

I toyed with my 1714 tuner ALOT trying to get the setting right where I wanted them... It just couldnt be done with that tuner.

I'm not saying he's the best out there, but I am satisified with his tunes. Period.

0-60 times w/xcal2

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did 3 runs 0-60 with the airaid and magnaflow dual side exit 'lightning style'
11.05
11.08
10.87
flashed the troyer 91 perf tune:
9.45
9.78
9.15
9.6

that was with only 2k miles on the truck. I'll have to run it now with 6k+
I am happy with it

The pointless "my daddy is better than your daddy" crap is going to stop guys...

Frankly, I don't give a flying flip about who you think is the best tuner... I don't care that you don't like an individual tuner... I don't care that you don't like the fact that someone likes one tuner more than another tuner... and, in all honesty, I'm sick and forking tired of all the immature bull**** that continually comes up with this subject. Whoever *you* like is fine... everyone is entitled to their opinion and entitled to post information about that opinion. To simply walk in, rip and roar, and expect no recourse is a false expectation... A sucker punch on the forums is pretty sleazy honestly guys... think about it.

There have been recent bans that have occurred due to this stupid, immature, irresponsible, pot-stirring, moronic behavior. While I would hope to not have to treat mature adults like teenie boppers, it becomes apparent, over and over, that this may be what is necessary.

So, from this point forward, the bull**** bashing is going to stop. Period. No exceptions. It detracts from our forums and I'm sick of policing them...

There *IS* a very course and defined line difference between information sharing and simply being here to cause a problem. The line is VERY apparent with very little room for interpretation. It's time we all look at the line and know not to cross it.

I'm not here to babysit and refuse to do it. Those of you that stir the pot, rock the boat, and do nothing but fuel the fire know who you are. If you have something BENEFICIAL to CONTRIBUTE (beneficial and contribute are the operative words here), feel free to chime in... but, the whole 'my daddy is better' rant stops *NOW*.

This is ****EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY****

Please guys... let's drop the whole "my daddy is better than yours" crap... okay?

I have been able to get down to a best of 8.04 0-60 with my 4x4 Screw. #3 tune with a bit more fuel set for 87 octane.

Just something to think about...

Figure A:
4.6 4x2 reg cab 5000#
231fwhp
293fwtq
hp to weight ratio: 21.65
tq to weight ratio: 17.06

Figure B:
5.4 4x4 screw 6000#
300fwhp
365fwtq
hp to weight ratio: 20.00
tq to weight ratio: 16.44

We all know the lower ratio the faster everything will go because the power will have to move less. Based on seeing some of your times my truck should be in the 13 second 0-60
