What's your 0-60 times?

When you say a whole new truck, I think I'm going to expect a whole new truck or at least some decent gains, not a moody accelerator and an extremely hungry engine. I've taken into consideration my weight, mathematically, 4wd, again, mathematically. It doesn't add up to anything near where I should be. Could my timing methods be any simpler? It's common sense, the start and stop of it. It's less than a couple tenths off every time, I guarantee you that. The performance gains from the XCal2 were nothing like you and the fan boys were boasting about. Nothing. I am not going to just go with the grain because you are telling me I probably just don't know what I'm talking about. Does that justify my performance, and does that mean I'm lying about all the problems I'm suffering? Instead I'll play it fair and let the rest of you guys know that I have had little less than satisfactory results with Troyer's tune. This really gets under my skin because I paid almost $500 for a custom tune that gives me dreadful gas mileage, and detracts from the truck with the odd accelerator patterns, and now people like you are trying to tell me it's fine.
How is a no refund policy ok? I can't even return my brand new pulley's. If you're confident your products will sell, why would you have a no refund policy. Just to clear this up, I have nothing against Troyer but in my opinion them and their products are a little inflated as far as satisfaction with them goes. Particularly the custom tuned XCal2. But yeah, you're probably right, I'm just an idiot with 10+mpg and a proper accelerator out to get Troyer.

What were your expectations? How do you know you lost power? I understand you not being happy with the odd accelerator patterns, but have you given TP the opportunity to work on that for you? Have you done your datalogging to see if there is anything to be changed? It just seems your a little premature in going off on how bad the tuning is before you've even datalogged the truck. You do realize it's "custom" tuning and that sometimes adjustments are required?
Also, let me know when you find a tuner that will tune your truck, let you run it for a while, and then refund your money if you decide you don't like it.

I love how I am getting flamed for speaking out against my problems.

I wish I was getting paid to talk good about prople, I have been treated right by troyer and his crew, and I know If I had a problem like JosiahI would have been on the phone right then calling them and asking how to fix it.

I just had that vibe they were putting me off. Needless to say, I'm going to get in contact with them soon and see what can be done besides breaking it in, I've had plenty of time with poor gas mileage to do that.

That was their final diagnosis, after I had told them about the trip. I just find it amazing there could be so many differences in these trucks to require a true custom tune for each. It looks like he could have a custom tune that will work with say a 4wd Screw, 5.4L, Airaid and Magnaflow SI/SO and all other trucks just like that could use that same tune with success rather than having to dyno tune and data log each one. There probably couldnt be more than 25 or so really popular combos...then for everyone else a true custom tune would be needed.

What makes this so hard for us "troyer boys" to believe is the level of customer service you claim. Granted, it is a little more difficult to get ahold of Mike right now, simply because they are in the middle of building a new shop, and that takes him away from the office.
Bottom line is, do your datalogging and give them the opportunity to tweak the tuning. Until datalogging is done, your tuning is not complete.

Once you've done your datalogging, and gotten your tweaked tunes, let us know the outcome. Part of getting "custom tuning" from Mike is doing your datalogging. How do you expect him to make changes to your tuning without any info other than what you provide from your "butt dyno"?

But that doesn't mean the 600CFM carb is the perfect carb for the engine...it may be a 632CFM. And thats the glory of computer controled cars...you can fine tune the sweet spot to that exact engine and that what TP tries to do. It just seems they need to work with your more to find the sweet spot. However in your case a canned tune maybe closer to right that what you currently have.

Those are some sweet 0-60 times. Next week, I'll be running 91 octane with the level 3 tune. Hopefully I can drop that 8.2 a lil
BTW - I didn't want to cause any problems in here with my post
Seems like some people were taking things the wrong way.

That being said, Josiah needs to follow TP's instructions on datalogging or whatever else they say he needs to do. Publicly trashing TP is NOT a way to get your power/mpg back. Now if you leave the attitude/bashing behind and contact Mike personally and follow his instructions specifically, and it still is a dog, then you can rant here. The bottom line is that you need to get your truck running the way it should....They are way too many Mike "fans" on here for the blame to be all on TP. Call Mike and get it worked out... Please...

The bashing of TP before you give them the opportunity to complete the job is crazy. If you weren't willing to follow through with all the requirements for custom tuning from TP, you should have gone elsewhere.
You know, I try and stay out of these bashings like this.. but here is what I know from talking to people with our trucks in person over the phone...
Troyers tunes are good, better then most, but not the best. There is a guy in florida, then another in oklahoma that have really got a grasp on these new 3v's. Alot of told me they have knocked off .1-.3 in the 1/4 with these guy's tunes over troyers tune.
Just a little fyi....
