Just loaded the latest update. Has anyone else noticed they changed the default settings (at least on level 2). They changed WOT Fuel from 1.3 to 1.1. Rev limiter from 5400 to 5000. Wot shifts went down several hundred RPM. I liked the way the truck drove on the old default settings so I changed them back to that.
I am getting ready to give level 3 a try, and I was wondering what settings everyone is running on level 3.
Thanks

I've been dealing with something similar to that. Only my defaults are different than yours. My default rev limiter on level #2 was 5175. Kinda low since I will hit that on a 45mph WOT due to downshifting 2 gears. Whats wierd is that after I saw that without changing it, I loaded level #3, which showed a rev limiter of 5600. Hmmm, so I loaded level #2 back, which NOW had a default of 5600. I noticed things like that change before, but didn't catch on. Last night I comfirmed it after I did the 2nd update. I never checked on the shift points since they default at 0 so I would never know where the default is at.

For the WOT shift points you can set 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4 shift rpm. They are not set to 0. Before last update the default for 1-2 and 2-3 was 5100 after last update they were both 4750. 3-4 was 5000 (which I always knocked down to 4700)...after last update, the default was 4400. I wonder......why the change?

"WOT (Wide Open Throttle) Shifting" Settings:
On automatic transmissions, these are the RPM points at which the vehicle will shift whenyou are at Wide Open (full) Throttle.
"Standard (Std.) Shifting" Settings:
On automatic transmissions, these are the MPH points at which the vehicle will want to shift during normal acceleration. Positive values will cause later shifts while negative values will cause shifts to occur sooner.
"Shift Firmness" Settings:
On automatic transmissions, these values represent a percentage change in shift firmness, or in other words how “hard” your transmission will shift. A positive number will cause the shift to be firmer. A negative number will cause it to be softer.
Ya, I just woke up.. I was looking at std shift points. My wot shift points are 5000/5000/4900 on level 2 and 5100/5100/5000 for level 3. Whats your rev limiter at in both level 2 & 3?
Where in WI do you live? Possibly Mosinee? Where is that?

People actually use level 2?
I use level 3 and 87 octane, back down the octane level to 89 or 90, at 91, you can here pinging sometimes when you get on it. I think I'll try level 2 and see what it does for mileage. My current settings changed from the default are:
WOT shifts points- 1-2 & 2-3 at 5400rpm, 3-4 at 4800
Shift points- 1-2@2, 2-3@5, and 3-4@10 (all at the max, during the week, I have about 900lbs of toolboxes and tools in the bed, helps to get going under normal acceleration)
Fuel octane- 90
Speed limit- 200 (like I really need it)
Tire size- 2420mm (GPS verified) for correct mph
Rev limit- 5700rpm

All of the following are for level 2:
As far as the rev limiter goes, if you downloaded the latest update, like I said above, they dropped the WOT shifts quite a bit and the rev limiter from 5400 to 5000rpm. I raised the WOT shift points to where they had them before except for the WOT 3-4....I raised that to 4700rpm (they had it at 5000 before and 4400 after the last update). I recall reading a post where Mr. Troyer said it was not adviseable to have the 3-4 shift any higher than 4700 rpm. That it would be very hard on the tranny and that at that speed you wouldn't really need it. I raised the rev limiter to 5400. The Edge manual says that you should have the rev limiter at least 150 rpm higher than your highest WOT shift. With that in mind, after the last update, check to make sure that you have your rev limiter set high enough.
For level 3, I plan on setting the rev limiter to 5600rpm and the WOT shifts 1-2 and 2-3 to 5300 and the 3-4 to 4700 rpm.
Mosinee is near Wausau. What's EC.....Eau Claire?
Yes, Eau Claire..
I'm not sure if im going to mess with the shift points. I very rarely go WOT from dead stop through the gears unless I'm doing a 0-60 run or something. My rev limiters are already set to 5600 on level 2 & 3 as a default. Wonder why the differences from yours.

I just got my edge today, went straight to level 2 - truck was running and shifting awesome - went in and downloaded updated version - now I think level 2 is pretty lame.......Are these the settings I should change WOT, etc?
Or how do I go back to the previous version??
Thanks in advance

I did not want to update becasue I was happy with the way the truck was running, but I thought that perhaps there were some changes in the software that would benefit me and prevent me from blowing up my engine. The mpg feature is nice and I noticed that they decreased on some of their values. Could be for a reason. Also, i believe most of the updates were due to accepting codes for other trucks. I don't really want to mess with it because I really don't know what I am doing and don't want to mess something up and be replacing the PCM, an engine or the Tranny. I set-it and forget it.

I've got the latest version, feels as strong as ever. The values you see when you go into the custom tuning the first time are not the Edge tuned parameters.
Here is some parameter info posted by Bill in several other threads (I paraphrased a little):
Adders or % Modifiers Parameters:
The adders or % modifiers work off of the Edge (tuned) programs. The following parameters are adders or % modifiers:
Timing
Shift points
Shift pressures
Idle Speed
Fixed(adjustable) value Parameters:
All parameters that are fixed values are specifically set to the user’s desired value. The following parameters are fixed values:
WOT Fuel
Speed Limiter
RPM
WOT Shifts
Tire Size
Gear Ratio
When you go into custom tuning the fixed values default to whatever the "Stock" PCM values are except for Tire size and Gear ratio...they default to whatever Ford has them set to for that PCM code.
So, if you go into custom tuning........my opinion........you should adjust all of the fixed values. If you want to set them to the Edge (tuned) values first and then modify from there.......Bill supplied the values that Edge uses for the different levels. They are:
WOT shifts and Rev limiter settings:
Level 3
1-2 = 5100
2-3 = 5100
3-4 = 5000
Rev = 5600
Level 2
1-2 = 5000
2-3 = 5000
3-4 = 4900
Rev = 5400
Level 1
1-2 = 5000
2-3 = 5000
3-4 = 4900
Rev = 5400
Stock
1-2 = 4975
2-3 = 4950
3-4 = 4400
Rev = 5100 - 5200 (Depending on Calibration)
WOT Fuel - Trans = 1.1, Tow = 1.3, Race = 1.5
Hope this helps people. And if I made any mistakes....please correct me.
Thanks
