Yeah, because people are looking over and saying, "Who's the *** who can't tune his ***** properly."

The crackling sounds almost like a backfire. My guess is that there is simply not enough backpressure, so you'll be burning out your valves prematurely.

that might be the case, I am running 2.5inch piping all the way out. I don't see how I am running without enough backpressure to keep from harming the valves, people on here are running straight pipes, much more free-flowing than this. I know there isn't enough backpressure but if it's really going to cause wear on the engine I'm putting my magnaflow back on.

It could be just a coincidence, so don't go ripping the exhaust off or anything drastic.

I just know from my experience with tuning sportbikes (carburated) and older cars that when you get a backfire or crackle (which is essentially the beginning of a backfire) then you've got some work to do before it is setup properly.

Heres a few possible reasons. Im running 93 octane, I think I have a different D/O diameter piping and of course weather but mine has never back-fired or cackled.

SI = 3" / DO = 2"

If someone can tell me where I can host a video, I'll show you.

I would be sending my XCAL2 back to Troyer to get it fixed. Those things ain't cheap. Just curious why you would go for sound over performance. I got a singe 3" Magnaflow catback and it sounds awesome and powerful when I get on it. Just seems like you are going for the most performance you can get until before the flowmaster.
