I ordered mine from www.truckracingparts.com and used coupon code "eef2400jan06". They took over $100 off. I can't remember the exact price I paid, but I think it was $330 or $340 with free shipping.

Thanks for the code and site!!! Mine is in the mail!!! Will this code work for anything else on the site? I'm looking for an intake setup.

There are other coupons for TRP if you click on the Bargain Patrol link. For an intake setup you might look here: Volant thread.

Installed the EDGE on my 05 F150 this Friday and DAMN. It seems that my truck had "Zombie" mode programmed on the PCM from the factory. Not only did I get better gas mileage, but it has some get-up and go. Better throttle response and it doesn't seem as heavy, even with a winch and 33's. Still can't spin the tires but it has made me believe in my truck again; as if i have a whole new vehicle. Since Ford did not want to address the Delay throttle response issue NOR calibrate for larger tires I had to do it. took a couple of minutes. Shifting is great and it was worth every penny. I don't keep it plugged in because I don't want it stolen since I spend most of my time at work(while the truck sits) but it will definitely be on for longer trips to keep an eye on my miles per gallon. I have really only run the level 2 with 88 octane and for now that is more than enough. Got it within four days. My wife has commented on how she thought it was going to look cheap; but even She said that it appears like a HIGH-TECH computer and that she felt the difference in how the truck responded and was well worth it.(I had to convince her it was something we needed to get) She was pleased and said it was well worth it. Now I can't keep my foot off the gas, I keep getting the urge to floor-it more often.

TX-FX-4,

Congrats on the EDGE. Fair warning to you. If you like level 2, just wait for level 3. Not much difference in normal driving, but hold on in 3/4 to WOT. I just put mine back to level 2 after a tank at #3. gas went up .25 a gal here.

Good luck.

Thanks. I am very impressed. For me, i needed the adjustability for tires to correct the speedo and improve shifting. I will probably run on level 2 for a long time for my driving tastes. That and the fact that gas keeps going up and I don't want engine pinging or problems. BUT i'm glad I have the option whether i choose it or not, it is available. Definitely recommend the unit to anyone who wants improvement.

Slightly off topic but I am expecting my edge tomaro and I want to prepare for its coming. Does it come with a CD to install on your computer? I am looking to download the lightning software first before I install it in my truck. I heard you should do this first before you install it in the truck. Should I instal the CD first and then the lightning software? How long will all this take as in downloading everyhthing and installing it in the truck?

Nope, no CD. you need to go to www.edgeproducts.com on the HOME page on the lower left corner you will see UPDATES EVOLUTION LIGHTNING.Or just click on this link

https://local.edgeproducts.com/edge/..._download.html

Download the LIGHTNING software and install it in your computer. Once installed go to START, PROGRAMS, EDGE PRODUCTS, and select PRE-INSTALL DRIVERS. Once you have done this, you plug in the USB connected tuner. The computer will locate new hardware and install the drivers. It will take 2 drivers, so you will have to go to the process twice. In both cases it will give you a warning and ask if you want to Continue anyway. If you do not select CONTINUE ANYWAY you will not be able to complete the install. Be aware that the Software has alot of personal information about your computer and your system. I noticed this when I went to ABOUT LIGHTNING and SYSTEM INFO. I don't know if they use this for helping you troubleshoot or ????????
Good luck. It is a great device and has made a great improvement on my vehicle. It has more adjustability than needed and the update gives you an mpg readout as you drive.

I would like to know too, I just orderd mine. Also I never took my truck for the new OEM PCM reflash, should I do this before installing the EDGE? I just removed my 1714 program to go back to stock, this truck runs like crap now. I have had the 1714 program for the past 6 months and was never really impressed. Now that its back to stock I realize that the 1714 really did make a HUGE difference. Im hope the Edge will be better than the 1714..

Downloading depends on your connection but for cable it is under 2 minutes. the updates will take a few minutes as well (about 5 minutes) taking it to your truck and adjsuting for YOUR desired parameters. a few minutes. So All-IN-ALL you could be up and running in under 15 minutes if all goes well. I also installed my software and pre-installed my drivers BEFORE i got my tuner. Best to be prepared as this will give you more time to play. I would also recommend reading the manual that is online to get familiar with the features. Also, beware that the key needs to be on the ON position BEFORE hooking up your tuner. If not you will experience errors and problems with the Custom tuning options. You can adjust for octance level as well. So if you are running the level 3 performance and only have 87-88 octance you can bring the octane level down and the timing will change automatically to compensate for the octane difference. ALso there is a tire change area if you are running 35's to adjust. The online manual and the manual that comes with it will give you an estimate. For example I need to change the tire size to 2632mm because I am running 33's. Have fun.

I wouldn't bother with the re-flash as the dealer may not do it anyway. They'll want to drive your truck and then tell you nothing is wrong and no reflash is needed.(it's happened to a couple of members on the forum) Also i did not get a reflash even though I gave them the TSB and explained the problem. The tuner will change anything that was reflashed anyway. Just DON"T leave it tuned when you take it in for service as you may make your edge tuner inoperable and will need to be recovered(FOR A FEE) so put it back to stock whenever you plan on taking it in for service regardless of what it went in for. Another thing I like about the edge is that even if the dealer re-flashed it you should still be able to use the tuner again. This was one of my concerns and reasons i did not get custom tuning.EDGE techs say they are about 2 weeks behind the new calibrations in the newer vehicles.

thanks for the info. I took my truck to the dealer to get it reflashed awhile ago and they said they didnt have any update and they could only reset the PCM if there were any problems. Since there were no problems with my truck they said there wouldnt be any perfomance gains.

The System Information tool is a standard part of Microsoft Windows, not the Lightning software. You can find the same System Information tool by going to Start|All Programs|Accessories|System Tools|System Information. Edge Products is *not* collecting information about your computer with their software--they just provided a convenient link to the program in the event you need help with troubleshooting.

I got 1.5 - 2mpg better on 87 octane. Are you using real gas (Shell, Exxon, etc) and not crap gas (Billy Bobs corner store, etc.)?
