Question Crooked steering wheel

Anyone else have this?

I'm driving dead straight on the highway and notice that my steering wheel is slightly turned to the right even though I'm driving as the crow flies. If I turn to the left to straighten the steering wheel up, then I'm drifting that way.

What's up with that?

Anyone else have this problemo?

Should I tell the dealership at the next [5K] service?

Or am I displaying a little too much paranoia about nothing?

Did you hit something, like a curb, it just sounds like your alignment is out. No biggy, just get an alignment.

I don't remember hitting anything .. .. .. but the wife drives it once in a while too, so .. .. ..

I just thought it's been that way since day one and I just happened to notice it now. Who knows?

I'll take it to my guy at the wheel/tire shop next week.

Mine is the same way, just a tad left of center. I didn't notice it until a month into owning the truck when I put a new steering wheel on for the cruise control. Did a road test and thought maybe I messed up the alignment of the new wheel by one notch. I wanked her off and discovered that the wheel will only go on in one position. There was no rotating it for better alignment.

I plan on installing some Autosprings and hope the wheel alignment will fix this.

Come to think of it, my wife has driven my truck before? Think there is some kind of truck bashing conspiracy or something amongst them?

steering wheel

I had the same problem with my 04. It didn't affect anything, just annoying. At 1st service they tweeked the tie rod ends and checked the alignment which took care of the problem. In my case it was covered under warranty.

My last truck, a 2000 SCAB did the same thing when I bought it. I asked the dealer about it and they did a front end alignment. Problem was fixed and the truck pointed the same way as the steering wheel afterwards. Just take it back and have it aligned.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I guess an alignment/steering check is the way to go. I'll get onto it.

Guys;

I dont meat to be a smart A$$, but the first thing to check is tire pressure!! Just a few pounds can really affect these bigger tires. It just might save you a trip to the shop.

I have the exact same problem. Its really annoying. The steering wheel is slightly turned to the right when im driving straight. I can let go of the wheel and it will keep going straight so i know its not pulling one way.

Let me know if an alignment does the trick.
