Short throw is all relative to the shifter you put on it and has nothing to do with the tranny itself The TKO will be "notchier" feeling guaranteed, while the T56 will be smoother. Also, if you do the T56, you need to work up something with a reverse lockout switch to make it easier to get into reverse...usually people just tie this in with the brake pedal light circuit.

Will the throttle by wire cause any problems? I was thinking of the timing on using the clutch and timing the shifts.

I'm sorry but those are not Wet Okoles. I don't know what they are, but I do know what they aren't.

I put a 6 speed T-56 in my 1990 GT and the thing works great. However, if you can afford it I would do a 6 speed auto. The new Corvette is a 6 speed auto and it is the best tranny I have ever driven.

Whatever floats your boat.

My Wet Okoles

Your 'Okole Wannabes'

Wet Okoles center section (the different color) runs the entire length of the seat as in the pics in this thread https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=226513

Unless you're dead set on a manual transmission, you do realize that a properly built auto with a good converter would stomp a manual transmission into the ground, and it'd be cheaper, right?

I got to play with it very briefly at a training class a few weeks ago. Very fast, makes the WDS look even more antique than it is. I'm thinking about ordering the cables myself and buying another laptop to run it, I've already got a VCM. I'm still trying to talk our management into seeing the light and going with PDS to replace our NGS+. :o

I didn't think they looked like Wet Okoles either, but what do I know?

Nice, but dont buy the cables. As long as you have the VCM in the NGS+, hook up a Cat5 cable from NGS+ to your ethernet port. Set the IP to 10.0.0.1 Subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, leave everything else blank. Load IDS and you are off. I really like IDS. Haha, good thing im not a tech, i dont want to get sick of IDS
