If a thief breaks into your truck pulls up the armrest and sees a locked box they will just try that much harder to steal what you ar protecting so badly.

So all of your answers to the original thread topic posted would be!? Nothing like having everyone run on and on with side topics. I didn't even bother to read this whole mess. I have no idea if anyone has even bought the console safe.

THANK YOU

So basically NOBODY has purchased this or know of anybody that has one? So some of us are speculating on its installation and how easy it would be to break into. I'll try to contact Moss motors and see if anybody there can give me more info. It may very well be weak and not worth the money, but I think leaving stuff in the center console might be an issue.

BTW i've seen way more "homosexual" mods on trucks than this safe

You are right! I also am from MN and have a CCW. You may carry them into a bar, as long as you have ZERO ALCOHOL in you. one drink of alcohol, and it turns into a felony.

Be careful with that law! The book also states no "public gatherings". Pretty broad there huh?

Anyways, i think this safe would be kick butt to put a pistol in. But can't justify the money for it.

.04% is the current law with a permit, while carrying

There is nothing about "public gatherings" either.

Box or no box in my f150, Id rather not leave a loaded handgun in it. If the trucks stolen, it leaves them plenty of time to break into it.

I don't live in an area where I feel the need, either.

However, this is the USA and it is legal to carry a concealed weapon where I live, and if I want to, I will.

The last thing I want is a need for it.

It's about individual rights and freedoms. It's about personal property rights of ownership. I don't need an F150 but I want one. Same thing.

my mercedes has one under the front passenger seat that is nicely hidden, but this one would be too easy to find. I would just get the best car alarm that comes with a pager if I was worried about someone breaking in my truck.

I agree...and thanks for trying to get your post back on track. I'm interested in how this works, so give Moss a call and keep us informed. I think this is a great option to keep the "smash, grab and run" jerk from getting anything worth any value...and the dealership from finding my (soon to purchase) XCal2.

looks kind of cool to me. my guess is its just a little more secure than a locked glove box. granted it would keep the regular "smash and grab" car burglar from getting your valuables, but from my experience a "skilled" car burglar would not have any problems popping that thing open. i took a report from a guy the other day that had something like it mounted under his back seat with almost 30k in jewlery. the box was pried open and all his stuff was gone.he told me he was only in the bar for 15 mins. as far as keeping my gun in it, in an unsecured vehicle...hmmm, no way. i would say leave the gun at home if you going some place where you cant take it with you.
glad i can carry mine everywhere with me

Actually the safe is about liability. While no one wants some thug to steal a gun from anywhere, if in the rare event it happens you are in a MUCH better position legally if you can say "It was secured in a gun safe" rather than "it was stuffed under the seat".

The liability protection is well worth the cost.
A gun safe at home can be opened with a torch, or in a few hours with a cold chisel, but just think about your position if a punk breaks in to your home and steals a gun that was just lying out, as opposed to spending two hours breaking into a safe...

As to people that don't want you to carry, because THEY feel safe in THEIR neighborhoods, please explain how that affects the rest of the world?

We don’t all have the privilege of living in your neighborhood.

There are lots of places I feel safe after dark, or with sums of cash.
There are even more places that a sane person would prefer to be armed.

As to putting a safe in the console, you can pick up a low price pistol safe and bolt it in most consoles. It can be stolen, yes, but it won’t be stolen by a valet, or by a kid breaking a window to steal your stereo. Oddly, a lot of thieves won’t spend an hour or two breaking into something. They work on the quick easy targets.
If they are going to steal the truck, telling your insurance/local cops, the gun was in a locked compartment sure feels better than telling them it was just in a glove box.

Concealed carry? What is that? We here in California can only dream of that.

The laws here are so strict...I had a friend that was a reserve Police officer locally...the chief would not give him a ccw...

Regards!
