I'd say way more than $1,200, but that all depends on what kind of in dash flip screen you wanted.

well a really good flip screen lcd will run you a good 600-800 bucks.. Then depends on how many watts you want on the amp and how many watts you want the sub to be able to hold and what brand of all and all that stuff soo i'd say like 1800-2000

wow...thats a big chunk of cash. Looks like i might have to build up step by step. Might go with a sub and amp and keep for the headunit for the time being?

Yeah at the Car audio place here they had a pioneer for 1800 bucks i was like .. but yeah you could either keep the headunit for the time being or just get an actual head unit i mean what is the purpose for a lcd screen?

To be honest with you, I have a LCD flip out and I only bought it for it's coolness cause I can't think of more then two times I've found myself actually sitting somewhere using it. I've kept it on so passengers could use it but I find myself watching too(which is a bad thing). Save on a HU and spend it somewhere else like good seperates.

Try Ebay, you can usually get good prices, just read the description fully and watch the shipping prices.

I bought alot of audio stuff of ebay and have had good luck.

Whats the purpose? To watch DVDs on....

If you don't care about playing DVDs then get a standard HU. You can get a nice HU for $500 or so but if you want a GOOD DVD/LCD your looking in the $1000-$1200 range easy. Another thing you have to consider is will you be doing the install or having it installed? Installation for a complete system will be pretty expensive....pushing the items you listed well into the $2K+ range. If you can do the install yourself and don't mind getting your items off Ebay you could build the system your asking about for $1800 or so.

I am the exact opposite...I play my DVD player all the time. I don't even have a single CD thats not a DVD. Once you have played music videos for a while its hard to play just the music!

I wish I could do my system for $1800, seeing how I already spent $1700. I don't think its going to happen.

This is the best advice to yourself if you want a good system. It took me 4 months to get all my system's components. The bad thing is I know I'm over $3k and I bought off Ebay and used stuff...some of it is brand new though.

The best flip that's out right now, IMO is the D310...but you know what they say about opinions. This week or next I'm adding the H701 to complete the combo...we'll see how that goes.

The other guys saying to just get a quality HU instead of the DVD flip...got a good point to. Unless you know for a fact you will be using DVD, that might be a way to go. I rarely use my DVD...I got it ONLY for the 17 month old to watch. He's hardly in my truck, we usually take the wife's SUV instead.

If you build peice by piece, get stuff you can use right away and until you save up enough to get another component of your system. That way it wont just be sittng in your closet. LOL You can start enjoying it right away.

One last thing...I don't envy your position right now. I hate all the decisions, what components, amps, flip, subs. Where am I gonna put the subs, what box, pre-fab or build it myself. What sounds good, how do I do that, what wires, will this work, etc...and then your gonna get all those "IMO"s. Have fun...email me if I can be of any help.
