The real kicker is that it only seems to occur when I am in the truck by my lonesome. Damn near crashed the truck once while trying to figure it out while going down the road at speed. The dealer cannot duplicate the issue.
from what it sounds like, its not coming from your dash. The black plasitc vent (forgot the name of it) thats on the bottom of your windshild outside. Those are known to be somewhat loose and buss and rattle againest your windshild at highway speeds. It could be worse if you have a bug guard on.

If it is your vent, the fix when I had mine dealer took the vent off, put two layers of double sided tape along the edge so it won't hit the windshild anymore. It fixed that on mine and no more rattling at highway speeds.

(Just a thought on your truck)

Center Dash Rattle

The rattle was coming from the plastic between the windshield and the hood vibrating against the windshield. I popped it back into place and no more rattle but I am sure that it will pop loose again. At least I know what has to be done now.
Like 'Not again?!' said, I was always by myself and nearly killed myself more than once looking for this rattle.
