04+ Supercharging Options...

Roots &Twin screw:

Roush-- Troyer Perf has intercooled kits
Kenne Bell-Intercooled but not available to public yet
Whipple: Intercooled but not available to public yet.
Trilogy Motorsports-Intercooled Eaton

Centrifugal:

Procharger: with 3 core intercoller
Vortech: Air-to-water intercooled
Powerdyne: Not intercooled...

Basically these are my options... I can either wait for the big dogs to come out (Bell and Whipple) or I can settle for somthing else...

I wanna buy a procharger because of the price.. much cheaper than the others... but I really had rather have the torque demand that the positive displacement charger make... I guess I'll wait till march like I had originally planned..

Any opinions?

I would wait for the Bell or Whipple superchargers. I think all these guys that bought the Rousch or other chargers because that's all that was available are really going to regret it once they see the numbers on the Whipple and the Bell. Note that I'm not talking about published numbers, I'm talking about real world numbers installed on the trucks of forum members.

Are the ProChargers still really loud? I know on the older Mustang kits they were obnoxiously loud. Thats why i went with the Vortech SQ for my Cobra. The noise was a deal breaker for me. Anybody else know about the noise on a Procharger?

I've owned 2 mustangs with centrifugal superchargers, and a Lightning, and from that experience, I wouldn't even consisder a centrifugal for a truck.

You might be waiting a looooooong time on a Whipple. They're real good at saying "A couple of months" or "a few weeks". I wouldn't hold my breath.

A Procharger at idle sounds like a jet on the tarmac.

Anybody got a link to a Dyno Graph for a Procharger or Vortech?

I'd really like to compare graphs b/w Centi and a Roots.

I was just looking at whipple's site to see what their kit does about fuel requirements(which I didnt find, I'll have to call), and was looking at what there truck ran in the 1/4.

A 14.24 at 95.6mph.

Now granted I am a regular cab, So I will way a tad less then their truck, but my mph is much higher then that. Normally you can tell HP by MPH traps. Something isnt making quite enough sinse there to me. Granted I have 4.11 gears and electric fans, but I was banging the rev limiter and losing all boost between shifts.

I thought also about maybe elevation differences, but compared to stock my improvments are still way better then theres. I am confused on this

Now that im thinking about all of this, I am really wondering what kind of power I'm putting down with this vortech.

jpdadeo says he ran 95-96 mph in the 1/4 with mainly the xcal2. Somethings not right with the MPH. I think he used a gtech and those can be off 2-3 mph or so i hear...
