Backup Alarm hates the cold.

My Backup Alarm hates the cold. Under 20 degrees and it will beep as soon as you put in in Reverse.....

Anyone else have this problem?

Never just because the cold. Usually because of the salt build up!

Where is your exhaust run. I have heard of vapor from the exhaust setting it off.

You might have ice or some other crap built up on one of the sensors.

Nope cleaned em off and no change. Once the truck fully warms up or if its over 30 degrees its good to go.

Example.

Threw my hockey gear in the back and started the pig up.

Threw it in reverse "BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP"

Went and got skates sharpenened (10 min drive).

Started it up and threw it in reverse again "beep, beep, beep, beep, BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP.

Drove to the rink.... (1/2 hour drive)

Just to try it out threw it in reverse. Nothing.

Temps were like in the teens....

Started it up this morning (in the 30's)

Put it in reverse and no beeps...

It is def temp related.... How I do not know.

Side exit dual Flowmaster exhaust btw....

i know that my exhaust fumes will sometimes freeze to my sensors if there is enought moisture- only really happens at 20 and lower

Check behind the bummper and see if there are any wires that might be loss. Not even sure if that would cause that or not but it is something to check..

Where in NJ are you from? I also play ice hockey down in Wall..

Not me.

It never gets anywhere close to that cold here.

I have had the same problem.
Not only on my truck but the wifes aviator as well?
The first couple of times it throws you for a loop.
I thought one of my kids left something in the drive.

even though I no longer have the F150, My mountaineer does the same thing in the cold. I make sure no ice build up is on them, but once I put it into reverse in the mornings, its nothing but a solid beeeeeeep!!

I ended up just turning it off for the time being so I can take a look at it later

Im guessing these are stock sensers. I have the ebay ones and havent had a problem so far (5 months old) the temps dropped down to 5 degrees this past weekend and had no problem.
