F-150 Badges

The black paint on my badges (where it says F-150 Triton V8) is flaking off, especially on the tailgate. Anyone else having this problem?

Hi neighbor (We live in Pace),
We had the same problem with one of ours on my son's 05....just take it back to the dealer. They will replace it. While we were waiting for ours to be replaced we wandered around the lot and found a few more "brand-new" trucks with the same issue.

My new 2005 is doing it also. Infact, it started doing it the first time I took it to the carwash when the truck was just a few days old.

Back at ya neighbor. Did your dealership give you any static on replacing them?

The only static I got at my dealer when I replaced mine was that they ordered the wrong badge 3!!! times. Morons.

They had to take a digital piture of the badge and "send" it to someone up the FORD chain of command as evidence....then a week later the new part arrived and they installed it no questions asked. At first, I thought my son had gone through a high pressure spray car wash but after seeing the other "new" on the lot trucks with the same problem....well, there is no way your dealership can deny that this is a problem. Just give them a call before you go.

Even so, a high pressure carwash should not take the paint off the emblems. I'll have to give my dealership a call. Thanks for the info guys.

It was a common problem with a run of badges. It seemed that most of the trucks on the lot had this issue when I bought mine this summer. Mine was replaced with no issues.
