Question Bed Tent

Does anyone here have one of those tents that fits into the bed of the truck?

I'm considering getting one, but can't find very much info or pictures of them online. I'd like to get the Ford one just because it has a Ford oval on it, but on the www.fordaccessories.com website it's only shown on a Ranger and it doesn't come out all the way to the tailgate when it's open. I assume the F-150 version is the same, but I've seen some other brands online that go all the way out to the end of the open tailgate. This is kinda important to me because my bed is 6.5' and I'm just over 6'. Once I put a pillow up in the front my feet will be touching the other end.

Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with these.'

Thanks.

Ford Bed Tent The pic shows the 97-03 model, should be the same design just different dimensions. Although the caption dictates that the "image may not be accurate for this application". Maybe they can help you find a better pic.

I almost bought one of these but the type of camping I do wouldn't lend itself to one of these tents. At the state parks here in Tx, I usually drive the tubers in my family around (I'm the only one w/ a pickup to hold the tubes), drive to the park store or drive to another spot in the river to find a fishing spot. Also towing a boat to and from the boat ramp w/ the tent back there didn't seem like a good idea. So I bought a regular tent (Eddie Bauer Ford theme) and it works fine. Just my 2 pennies.

I posted on this a while back. I am still intrested in this idea of a bed tent, but I decided not to get a one for fears of the straps scratching up the bed sides.

I haven't known anyone to have one. I would be intested in finding out how they liked it.

I'm not sure about the Ford one, but the other brands don't mention a padded floor (Just, "nylon between the truck bed and your sleeping bag") and some come down only to the top of the bed rails - no floor.

I know if I had an extra $8K and matching Jeep, I would get one of these tentrax trailers.

I've seen them for the F150 before, but only for the 6.5' bed, so us supercrew guys are screwed anyhow.
I bought my toolbox after I found that out.

These are not the Ford tents but they do show them for all bed sizes. Check out http://www.f150store.com/Shop/Search...WebCatalogID=0
Although they don't appear to be available

Does it mount to the bed sides or does it just sit inside the bed? Im looking for one that just sits inside the bad, fits wide and length wise with the tailgate down.

The one I saw somewhere (I don't remember where) mounted with some straps that went over the sides of the bed and attached underneath? (not totally sure).
And I didn't see any that fit the supercrews. Someone may make them now, but I haven't seen them anywhere.
