If you have a Laptop or a Tablet Pc with Bluetooth the Delorme Bluelogger GPS and Delorme Street Atlas 2006 software are a nice way to go. I've been using it for about a year and I'm very pleased with it. The maps are very detailed and the battery life on the GPS is about 8 hours. You can click on the link and read about it. http://www.delorme.com/bluelogger/default.asp

I got a Garmin Quest 2 for Christmas and love it. It has voice guidance, it's easy to use and looks pretty cool IMO.

My friend has the tom tom in his yukon and I think the GPS is VERY easy to navigate through and use. The one negative thing to it is that the screen isnt that big. I also heard the magellans are good. The seperate GPS units are cheaper but if you are not worried about money I would go with an in-dash HU like the eclipse 5435.

I use a handheld Garmin 12map (great for truck, boat, camping, hiking, etc. not much for directions but it shows where you're at and how to get back) and I usually have my Dell notebook w/ streets or find a WiFi *hotspot* and logon.

Thanks for the HU neighbor, luckily we already had S&T at the office so I didnt need to pay for the software, just the antenna. If I were to do it from scratch I would do it that way since the antenna would be Microsoft tested/approved. We buy S&T every year when it comes out and load it on our network, Mapquest and the others dont even compare to it, we are a trucking company and use it every day/all day and its worth every bit of the 30.00 or so. It is bulky if you load the full version (1MB) on your PC but its got the whole kit/kaboodle.

Agreed 200% ... I use the program ALL THE TIME! I'm only a part-time neighbor though... I manage our field office over there in Viburnum... right now, we're shut down for the winter. I'll be back in the saddle again around April though.

This one looks interesting..........

www.brandmotion.com

If they could make that where it closed down into the dash, that would be sweet. I think the HU might get in the way.

If you click on the link under the picture it takes you to the manufacturer's web site.
