Autospring installed!!

First off, a big thanks to fellow F150Online.com members -TXF150- and Robamus. I finally got around to installing the 2.5" Autospring spacer on my '05 2WD Lariat tonight. The Autospring was provided, brand new, for $65 from -TXF150- and the tools, jackstands, garage, and assorted other items were provided by Robamus.

Over all, I'm quite pleased with the ease of install and the time required to install the kit. The ride quality is good, and even over the speed bumps on the way home, I noticed NO bumping, clanging, or otherwise abnormal sounds (this is the old design Autospring). The truck looks much nicer, IMO the way it should have from the factory. I'll get around to posting up some pics tomorrow, since I left my camera at work. Big thanks to everyone here for the install tips and stories.

Keep your eyes peeled for pics. Oh yeah, my truck is begging for those factory 20" Pirelli Scorpions now.

EDIT: Oh yeah, the alignment appointment is tomorrow and since I work from 8am to 9pm, it should be no issue as far as time goes.

Right on; I'm excited to see the pics. I have the new style 2" AutoSpring sitting in a box here at home, just trying to find someone that'll throw it on for me!

How long did the install take for you? Mine was about 1 hour for each side. Does it set level or does the front measure higher? My FX4 Scab is about 1/2 inch higher in the rear with the AS 1 5/8 inch spacer.

About 2 and a half hours from start to finish. Right now, the truck appears to sit higher in the front, but I think it will settle a little over time. Can anyone confirm?

I've had mine in for about 5K and it has not settled at all. I was thinking about installing a Daystar, but I did not want to fool with taking apart the coils. The Daystar will settle a little bit since it is plastic, but the tough metal spacer will not give at all. The springs are the only thing that will weaken over time, but they are very stiff.

Glad to hear this.... I am waiting on my AS 2" ( 1 5/8" ) spacer. Ordered last week on ebay for $100.00, "new" design so hopefully no issues. I too have an FX4 scab, I like the back a little higher than the front and thought all the pictures of the 2 1/2" made the front look higher. Gonna have the dealer install and reset alignment, not sure if I want to attempt the install myself in the driveway this time of year...

Hey, they're running it through the carwash after they're done with the alignment. Does that count? Sorry, but when you work 60+ hours a week, you just dont have time to wash your truck. Believe me though, before it rained last week it was spotless, I promise. It looks pretty good in the daytime IMO, no settling yet.
