Don't beleive this information has been posted.
First of all, Motorcraft and autolite have a patent on these plugs. They will be the ONLY people that will ever make plugs for these engines as of right now. NGK etc. have said they will NEVER make a plug for these engines.
Motorcraft part# PZT-1F-F4
Autolite part# HT1
Autolite has a step colder platinum plug part# HT0
Gapping the plugs:
I stole this from another forum. Vortech/procharger sells special plug gapping tool, but apprently this method works just as good if not better.

I just saw this, had to post. The car was still running good, and the guy actually ran his best n/a pass with the spark plugs like this! He was spraying a 125 shot on his 05 Mustang GT(they use the same plugs as the 5.4 3v).

I cut a cotter pin in half and bent and hooked it over one jaw of the vice. I then put the spark plug in a 9/16 deep socket. I lined up the cotter pin with the center of the electrode and tightened until it held in place. I used a .032 and .035 diameter pins to measure the gap. I gently closed the vice jaws until the .032 pin would enter but the .035 pin would not. You need to measure the gap with the plug out of the vice. When you release the vice the electrode springs back slightly. Be very careful doing this. If you close the gap too much you can't get it to open up again. I practiced this on an old set of plugs before I tried it on the new ones.

I need to quit procrastinating and change my plugs.

This is what happens when you spray it and let it run too lean....which is a very bad thing. On my 93 Vette (Compu Car 150hp dry system) the #7 and #8 plug would do this everytime I sprayed it (maybe 4-5 passes). The spark would get so hot that it would melt the tips of the plugs off.

About how long ago was this? That was a known problem with nitrous kits on those lt1/lt4 engines. Just recently have they solved that problem about even flowing.

Oh yes im sure it was. It's just amazing how much nitrous technology has jumped in leaps and bounds.

During hteir testing of the 05 Stang, they sprayed it and kept melting the plugs. They pulled the heads and drilled/tapped for a regular style plug!!! OUCH!!! But no more melted plugs!!
