There is a small fortune to be made here. Imagine...buying all those cars, taking it to a crooked body shop, fixing them up and not reporting the damage on the title. Turn around and sell them for blue book value. Nothing shows up on Carfax.

 

Word is that all cars coming out of there are being recorded to prevent this. The new ones are being claimed for insurance purposes so I doubt that these will get away without being recorded as flood damaged.

 

That is true. Some folks I know that work at a salvage yard in Mississippi were contracted by Carfax to go from house to house and record damaged cars' VIN's. Even if it wasn't a driving car before the storm!

 

Thats good to hear. At least somebody is taking active steps to prevent morons from taking advantage of other people
