Corsa exhaust updates?

I'm looking for opinions from anyone who has installed a Corsa exhaust system. I did a search but only found people considering the system, and no one who actually had it installed.

What I'm looking for is good sound on acceleration, but little or no cabin drone. I think my best options are Corsa and Borla.

Opinions?

I have a Corsa Performance Touring system. I have had it on the truck for approx 4 months. I was looking for something that looked and sounded good, but wasn't obnoxiously loud. I am pretty happy with this setup.

On cold startup, it has a nice, deep rumble. As the engine settles back down to normal idle, you can hardly tell it is there. Revving the engine doesn't provide much feedback from the exhaust. On light to medium accel., it has a nice, clean, smooth sound. On WOT, it is obviously louder, but still very smooth sound. This is definately not the loudest exhaust out there, but IMO it is a very refined sound. I think that the Corsa Sport edition will provide a higher volume level, if that is what you are looking for.

Here are a few pics

There's no doubt Corsa makes quality aftermarket exausts. That's never been questioned.

The question has always been whether their pricing policy can be justified.

Here's my experience on a diferent vehicle.

I had a Corsa Sports cat-back with SW LT's on my '04 GTO and it sounded sweet. No drone under any driving conditions and wicked under WOT.

Then I listened to some Magnaflow and Flowmaster cat-backs on the same GTO's as mine with the same Stainless Works LT's and was amazed at the sound. They sounded almost identical .. .. .. yet both the Flowmasters and Magnaflows were considerably less .. .. .. almost half the $$$ I spent. As you could imagine, it left a sour taste in my mouth. Not a happy camper.

Borla was bordering on being a joke IMHO. Almost an even grand for something that sounded more melow than the factory system and not that great under WOT. Sure, it's a quality make with all the bells and whistles (it looks a million $$$ without a doubt) and had no drone whatsoever, but it also had no moan. Never again .. .. .. live and learn.

I know it's no F-150 but just maybe it'll give you an idea.

Borla or Corsa? You toss and I'll call .. .. ..

Safe driving.

I totally agree about the pricing. If it were not for the super sweet deal I got on this system from a previous member here (tycreek), I would probably be riding around with a Magnaflow right now.

Thanks

I was sold on the Corsa product after attending the SEMA show, but price will be a factor. I'm going to check out the local shop and see what they can offer me for the Corsa and Magnaflow systems installed.

Corsa

I agree with Big Blue. I have the "touring" and it fits the bill for me. The sound is perfect, no drone, and a powerful but not overpowering sound under hard acc. I did have a fit problem and emaile corsa for some direction...they ignored the request. I'll will have to heat the pipes to get them straight.

I have a 3 chamber Flow Master with 4 inch tips and COULD NOT be happier with the sound. Sounds great not loud but incredibly mellow!

Here is what I did, our system I believe is Stainless Steal 2.5" all mandrel bent, so I bought a polished stainless steal can from Magnaflow, Part #14250, took it to my muffler shop and had them cut the old one out and weld this one up there. Then they put a nice pretty tip on it and I am all done. The cut and weld was 30.00, the nice double walled chrome tip was 30.00.

New exhaust system, 166.95 all stainless and I got to choose my tip!

If you want the place I bought the muffler from let me know by sending me an e-mail. 106.95 shipped!
