use a screwdriver and pry em back very carefully and pop them out. i took the whole surround off the truck and did it inside on carpet so i didnt have to worry about scratching anything when i did my harley grill.

the carpet thing is definately a good idea, just use a screwdriver to bend the lock tabs out of the way, and work your way around the grille. i accidentally broke a few tabs doing mine but it still works just fine!! let us know if you still cant get it! and post some pics, id like to see the chrome on chrome

Be very careful. I have done this a couple of times. there is no easy way to do it. All three that I have done took alot of patience. Hope it turns out ok.

The pieces that break off are from the old grille anyways so if you don't plan on reusing it then it doesn't matter if you break them. You will still have all the clips on the LT grille to hold it to the surround but on the old grille there are something like 15 clips so even if you do plan on reusing it or selling it breaking off a couple wont matter all that much.
