Painting Bilsteins

Getting ready to order some bilsteins to go around the truck. Not crazy over the colors of yellow and blue though. I think that it would look alright if I painted them to match my truck, DSG, but I don't know how well the paint would stay on. Would this be worth my time painting up my shocks, or will they just look halfass when they start to get chipped?

You could just order Bilsteins with the silver can.

The silver ones only fit in the rear though. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Leaving them the original color will advertise to others that you have good taste in shocks. But if the color is important I would look into seeing if they could safely be powder coated. I don't think painting them yourself with a spray can would hold up but you never know.

When I did my lift, I painted the rear shocks red with all my lift components and put black boots on. All I did was lightly sand the shocks to help the paint adhere. Lots of offroading and they still look great with no chips. Pics should be in gallery.

Still got some thinking to do. But I do plan to do some offroading, so maybe I'll just leave them stock. Just thought it might look cool and different compared to everyone else with the bilsteins.
