Wonder if its worth asking how much it would cost to Line-X under there when I get the bed done or if it would be worth it. Line-X (or Rhino) vs. rubber type undercoating

Not sure what your point is. My truck is never used for "offroading" and if I have it my way most likely won't ever. Maybe run into some dirt roads or gravel going camping, but my preference would be 100% pavement. My truck is multi-task Supercab. I use it as my regular vehicle (car), to haul stuff (truck), and for long trips (SUV). Those that choose to add offroading to their multi-tasker is fine by me.

"Not to be a ****," but if I'm going offroading, its going to be with a 1978 F150 with 44 inch boggers and some serious travel suspension... Why go half@ss with it?

My FX4 F150 is my road Caddy and I cry when I get bug splatter or bird sh&t on her...

I stand technically corrected, but it's just a little dirt. I did not intend to work anybody up

My underbody is far from clean, I have trail scars and the engine is obviously dirty, but I pressure wash it right after mudding or crawling everytime, it's just not realistic to have an underbody like that going where I go (not trying to sound macho in anyway ). I have just tried to keep my truck clean meticulously in every nook and cranny and it's just not possible! Do any of you offroad heavily and truthfully have a clean engine bay (if you do you must be stretching the truth, I've convinced myself it's near impossible). I clean it by hand and it is still very obvious what I do with it. Once again, don't take this the wrong way, I'm just tired of seeing all your spotless trucks, I genuinely envy those of you who have them.

Penguin, if I had the money to get another truck for mudding, I'd have a fairly custom TJ. That was my original plan but I can't afford all that.

Goes on easy and very durable.
Autozone carries it.

So does Advance. I figured I'd throw that in since I work for them and got the X-plan for my Ford because of it.

I did undercoat + gloss black on my S-10. It looked great , but got dull after a couple years. I don't imagine undercoat alone will look good for more than 1 year. YMMV.

I have been wanting to do this to my 05 scab, it is Red. Which would look better? Red or Black.

I used the sprayon bedliner (the kind in a spraycan that you get at Autozone) and it looked great. After a few months, and a few rocks being kicked up, it started to chip, and now its not looking too pretty. I am going to wait for the winter to end, and re-do it - maybe with a thicker rollon bedliner, or I might try this 3M rubberized stuff.

Also, I called my local Line-X place - same people that sprayed my bed - and I asked if they could spray my wheel wells. The told me that their spraying equipment would not all allow them to work in small spaces like that, and if they did, then it would get everywhere. I dont know if this is true or not, just passing on what I heard.

I thought it was the scuff on the bumper. It does blend well with your tires and the plastic on the bed rail jk. that wheel well does look good tho

I too used the 3M undercoating as soon as I got my FX4. My truck is white and the black undercoating made it looks sooooo much better. Also plan on using it on the under side of the truck as well to protect and insulate the cab from noise.

Do any of you guys who used the 3M coating offroad at all?

Im really worried about spraying this stuff on there, only to cause more headaches.
