Steering Column Shroud

I am having a terrible time getting the lower steering wheel column trim panel installed on my 2004 F150. I found some posts saying that removal/reinstall was a pain. The panel came out without too much of a hassle but does anyone have any suggestions/tips for re-installing it? I don't see how to get it back in there (specifically I am having an issue getting the "lip" back into it spot inside the steering wheel) without damaging it.

Thanks!

You're supposed to pull the steering wheel to get the lower column cover in and out.

I remember an old trick that member Sandog53 said, here it is:

I was showed that trick by a Ford Technician.
so basically you just cut the two tabs off on the lower cover and it goes right in.

That's the way I did it.

Cut 'em off, and never looked back.

You can't even tell they're not there.

Turn the wheel upside down! Good idea, I will have to try it when I install my CA670. What tabs got cut off? I have not removed mine, so I am not familar with them?

Tried the upside down steering wheel trick and it did not work for me. I ended cutting about 3/8" off the shroud and it fit like a glove! Thanks!
