Holy cow! I completely forgot about that!!! That wasn't that long before the accident either. Geese, how ironic! Well if I had a sway bar, it would need to be replaced anyhow, because the rear end is in rough shape.

I wonder if the sway bar would have helped keep the back end from flying around?

Excessive speed and poor tire tread are perfect ingredients for finding a ditch.

Thanks fellas. Well I find out this week if the frame is bent or not.

If it isn't I'm thinking about switching the front end into something like the harley davidson F150. Is there anyone who can photoshop this for me? I tried to do it in Paint but this is the best I could do.

Can anyone do a non-commical version of what is below?

I saw a dodge crew cab today that was all black. The only chrome was the wheels, nerfs, and dodge ram lettering. Looked good.

haha, glad you like my rendering!

Well the insurance adjuster and guy at the body shop said they didn't see dents in either of the bumpers, so I must have been halusinating.

I like the harley look, but if they don't come painted thats probably $400 to $600 to paint two bumpers and a valence black. That plus the cost of the bumpers isn't worth it.

Uhh, guess I'm sticking with chrome. I'll assume the bumpers arn't dented and when I see them when it's done; if they are, I'll have them replaced.

It gets too dark after work to check and look at them myself.

Well the truck is almost done! One entire new suspension and rear end later, among other things, and I'll have it next week.

The HIDs will also be installed next weekend.

Just thought I'd update.

Thumbs up

Glad to see your getting things back together. Hopefully you'll be cruising again in no time...and looking more stylish than you did before hand. Best of luck on getting everything finished up!

Wow I'm late to this thread but dang man you have my sympathies.

It is painful to look at.

The rear end on these trucks do slip out pretty easy in snow.

I assume you have the LS rear right?

Yeah I have the LS, which reminds me to make sure that the new rear end has LS too!

I must have completely envisioned dents in both my bumpers, because the body shop never found any. So I'm sticking with the chrome stock look.

Looking back on it, I'm glad we we're in a car because it might have rolled when we hit the boulders. The truck took them like a champ, of course then again it took it hard enough to ruin the entire suspension. I mean those huge arms in the front...yeah bent! Even my poor silverstar fog light bulb went to live with god when it blew up inside the fog light.

When I have a complete list I'll go ahead and post total damages, parts and prices. It started out as $3,000 from the insurance adjuster but has easily jumped to more than double.

It costed 2500 to fix the bedside on my truck, even 6k seems too cheap.

Suprising the body damage was minimal to non-exhistent. The only things were to repair the wheel molding in the front and repaint, then replace the rear wheel molding and paint. Also had to repaint (entire bedside) and repair a large dent in the rear passenger bedside.

I picked a place that has done awesome work from the vehicles I've looked at. They came highly recommended and have been doing business in MN for quite a long time (I think 70+ years).

I also had a tour of their entire shop before they started and the shop was suprisingly spotless for being a work area. It was also packed with vehicles getting worked on, mostly mercedes, porche and bmw. They didn't some detailing for me when I first bought the truck and they did a flawless job then. I look forward to seeing what is to come.

Well if you don't whant to "spin out" again, and open diff is the way to go. A LS will actually be worse since this allows both wheels to turn.

The problem was black ice, I would have been hosed either which way.

Exactly. There's very little you can do on black ice when you're driving any faster than, say, 6 miles an hour.
