www.truckracingparts.com

Use coupon code "edge" for 17% off throught the 15th.

I'm sure the people in the GP got a much better deal, but that's over now. Hell, I've only had my truck two weeks. Didn't exactly know about the deal. I never did figure out what the GP buyers paid. The thread was 37 pages (@40ppp), and I bet it's buried in there somewhere, but I didn't have the patience.

Got my Edge this evening and installed level 1 trans only...took her for a spin and the shift was much better over stock

Got back home and installed level 2, now we talking, this truck woke up and is a marked improvement over stock

Tomorrow, after I install my TTT mirrors, i'll run the rest of 87 gas out (little less that 1/4 tank) fill up with 93, load level 3...and see what that has to offer

SO FAR THIS THING ROCKS

Again, the noobness shows for me.

I'm betting you guys in the GP didn't get better than $300. If you did, then good on ya. Oh well, hopefully I won't wait long since I paid the big $$$ for it.

On a related note, my truck has 850 miles on it, so what mileage should I wait to to begin tuning?

I'm thinking 1,000 miles is a sufficient break in period. I've been babying it, but since 500 I've been sure to give it one pedal to the metal 0-60 per day once warmed up. I didn't use cruise control before 500 either. I constantly varied speed. But I started to miss the radar detector I have hard wired into my S-10. This thing rides so smooth at 65+ that I occasionally have not realized my speed, so i've been setting the cruise at the speed limit (55 max) on my commute. I know I haven't had it over 65 for more than a minute yet. Probably 70-75 max so far.

Once its warmed up, drive it like you stole it. Im sure you'll be thanking me after your break in period.

What has me really wondering about is why Ford would deliver these trucks with such a dismal PCM flash.

If you drive the truck normally, the Edge doesn't really have an effect, so the longevity should be nearly the same. Some even report better fuel mileage.

Now, when you go WOT, that's a different story.

Would it have been such a problem for Ford to load the PCM with something a little more aggressive, that is active only at WOT like the Edge?

I can't believe Ford hasn't learned anything in 5 years. The wife has a 2000 24 valve Sable. The throttle response was just about like the new F-150's. We had the dealer reflash the computer twice. Then Ford issued a recall. That makes 3 times. Now it's, if anything, a little too sensitive.

Well after getting my mirrors on today I ran the rest of that 87 out and fill up with 93, loaded level 3, custom , set axle and tire size, set shift firmness to plus 1 in all fields
Took her for a spin..
To say the lease, I'm very pleased with this little box.....
Didn't run any times, cops where out thick around here today....But I can say it faster than its ever been..

so what are some recommended custom setting for level 3 ???

Well I figured I would still support this thread here with my findings,

My best 0-60 so far is 7.24sec.(with absolutly no wheelspin!)

I finnaly lined up with my friends hemi and even though I did not win, I felt I could have. I had too much wheel spin(out of all the times it would not spin them, it spins them now!). Either ways from 0-90 he only had me by 1/2 his truck. And that to me makes me feel much better than the car lengths he had me at before. During the run it was not totaly even as he was edging me ever so slighty. He has a drop in k&n, dual exaust, thats it. I have drop in k&n, SIDO flows. and the edge set on #3.

edge settings, wot fuel:1.85 shift firmness 1-2=2 2-3=2 3-4=0

wot shifts 1-2&2-3=5400 3-4=5100

rev limiter @ 5700

93octane fuel.

Tell me guys how to perfect my settings, I want to eliminate his slight creeping that he has on my and make to whereI'm the one edging him up ever so slightly!!
What else can I do to increase my power without breaking the bank? I must beat him! All I need is another 1/4 to 1/2 a second to shave off my time.

What is the octane of the fuel you purchased? I filled up with 93 & bumped the Edge to 95. Your WOT fuel, have you tried different settings?

I think Gobra was saying to powerbrake at the start to get the rpms up to 1400 before the take off. He had some very impressive 0-60 times.

Mine arrives tomorrow (so says tracking)! I was expecting it to be on backorder or something since I ordered it from the same place that did the GP. Too bad I work until midnight. I doubt it will come before 10am when I go to work.

maybe we should do another group buy????

i am sure we can scour the web and get lots of people in on it.....???

then again, i might wait until it's in the $299 range... probably be there in several months, considering how low the first group buy price was.....

I wouldnt wait on the $299 price. They will be able to get over 4 bills for this unit once they get the few bugs out and the word on the screet gets around.
