Daystar Quote

My neighbor that was going to do my level decided not to help me, so I went to get a quote from the dealer. They quoted me $250.00 to install the daystar, new shocks all the way around, and a reallignment. I'm going to buy and provide all the parts. Does this sound like a fair price to you guys?

Thanks

I paid $305, daystar and allignment included, They have to pull the front shocks to install the daystar so I dont think it should be too much to replace them with new while they are there. Install the rear shocks yourself.

Honestly, that doesn't sound like that bad of a price but you could do it yourself and have it aligned for $50-100.

Dont you guys do your own work? There's even directions that come with the kit! The spring compressor and even an alignment gauge are about $40 each. If nothing else, its a chance to have some fun

My opinion is that if you've never used a spring compressor before, take it to have it professionally done. Those things can be nasty and if used incorrectly, could possibly kill someone.

Sounds like a deal to me. I call a place here in Orlando and it was 420 and change to buy it, install it and have it aligned.

However, I've seen a lot of posts over the last few months about the new RS9000 Rancho shocks with the adjustable collar. I'm starting to like this option the most. I figure I can upgrade my shocks and level my truck a little bit at the same time. I don't mind a little rake so I would probably use go somewhere in the middle of the 0-2.5" on the collar.

I know some people here have purchased and installed these shocks and used the ajustable collar. What is your opinion of the shock so far? Also, is it worth upgrading all 4 shocks or is it okay to just stick to the front for now?

Thanks.

Thanks for the responses. I would attempt to try it myself, but I had a friend that could of gotten hurt badly when he had a mishap with compressing the spring. So I'm just going to let the dealer do it. Whenever I'm in there next I'm going to make them sign a paper quoting me that price. There a good dealership, and we do alot of work with them, so it should be pretty smooth. Going to wait until the weather warms up though. It's cold here in Mid-MO.
