Rancho RS9000 vs Bilstein

I've now seen both of these shocks as highly recommended here and was wondering how the two compare in performance and price. (or are they comparable?)

I've read up on both and asked about both on here. From what people say, rancho is the way to go. The bilstein is a good comfortable shock from what the company says and what people say, and even offers a monotube that I was interested in, but the more I researched the more I realized that monotube in the rear is probably for someone who will be going offroad frequently. Monotube in the front w/ coilovers is probably okay. But the rancho 9000 shocks series is superb from what everyone says that has them and the adjustment on them makes it even better. That way you can ride like bilsteins will or you can ride on the medium level for minor offroading or you can set it tough and do some serious offroading. All of it is said to be comfortable. Plus lifetime warranty if I'm not mistaken??

I chose the Rancho shocks. Although imo you can't go wrong either way performance wise (Rancho's or Bilsteins), it was the ride height adjustability and dampning adjustability that sold me on the Rancho's. With the triple x series in front I was able to kill 2 birds with 1 stone by also leveling the truck out. Good luck with your decision.

what setting did you choose for the height. Based on the pictures in your gallery I estimated it was about 2 ". I am getting ready to order these and wanted to see what you thought for the setting 2" or all the way up at 2 1/2". I do lille hauling other than the occasional run to Lowes so level rather than slight rake would be my preferance.

thanks

Thanks guys...I just wanted some different opinions on both because in the near future I will be upgrading my tires to the 285/65/18 BFG/AT and wanted to raise the front of my truck a bit without the use of spacers. I figured using these Rancho's might do the trick. I've heard the Bilsteins though have excellent results in ride performance. I don't know about the Rancho's in that respect. Are they as good? I just wanted to try and hit 2 range drivers with one golf ball and get the best of both worlds.

Yes I did set them at 2". Just an fyi, the current pics of my truck in my gallery is when I had the 2" ez-lift installed, but when I took them out and installed the Rancho's I made sure I ended up with the exact same height (39.5" in front and 40" at rear, from ground to top of each wheel well). I will be updating those pics when I get a chance. Probably after the holidays. Anyways, hope this helps and I know you will be happy with them when you install yours! :santa:
