Rear sway bar = night and day difference!

My '05 F-150 supercab had too much sway and lean in the stock form, so I ordered a Belltech 1" rear sway bar, and a set of Bilsteins. I put the sway bar on today, with the OEM shocks (8000mi), to see if it would get rid of some of the bed shake, and wallowing in turns. All I can say is that it is a night and day difference! Crisp, flat cornering, no wallowing, and the bed shake is gone. I can't wait until my Bilsteins get here. The rear sway bar might be the best $180 I've spent. Worked even better than I expected.

Glad to hear your results, Living in the mountains with nothing but curvy roads I have found that adding a rear sway bar on a truck can have great results without sacrificing normal off-road conditions, and if you really need to get into hard core off road situations they are easy to unhook for more aticulation. My other vehicles are sports cars (except for my Jeep Rubicon) so handling is a priority for my driving style.

Thanks for you post, it reminds me I need to get my 05 Screw over to ADDCO so they can make the prototpe for their rear sway bar using my truck!

What is involved in installing the sway bar? I've never done this mod before.

It took me about two hours, most of the time figuring out how to do a sano job. I could do it again in 45 minutes. The only tool you need is a 9/16 wrench. The Belltech stuff was really nice, it even included the silicone lube for the urethane bushings. It made the OEM shocks about 10 times better............

NO....but I did have to slightly move one brake line clip. No big deal, no modification necessary, just clearance. I should note that I have installed both front and rear sway bars on many different trucks and vans that I have owned. I have used Addco, and Helwig in the past........the Belltech kit and installation was the best product I have used. No holes to drill, everything was nice quality, and fit as it should.........not much else to say, It works bitchin', and I'm happy with the product, and the results.

How about the ground clearance??? Any pics yet??? I've been toying with this idea since I towed a trailer on the Blue Ridge this summer.

What are the implications of doing this to a 4WD? What is the big difference between doing this mod to a 2WD and a 4WD?

Thanks,

Duke
