Nitrous+Troyer Programmer Question

I have done some thought and would like to get some nitrous. I figured i go with a 100 wet shot. My question is that if i get the nos, will i have to tune my programmer diffrently. Or is there any other preps i have to do to my motor before the install...thanks

Yes, you will definitely have to get a different tune. I personally was thinking about running nitrous, but Mike Troyer helped me decide differently.

Spark plugs
window switch
nx or zex fuel adapter
tune

have fun.

Note 5.4's dont have good sparkplugs out for this type of stuff, or atleast I wouldnt spray a big shot on them. I know some people have.

I would give him a call. He has tons of useful info.

Fatherford- I know that sparkplugs need to be changed when adding any kind of boost. But, are they just sticking with stock plugs when adding a supercharger?

I beleive so. I havent heard of anything different. I really need to do more research on these sparkplugs and what makes them so special.

I would definetly call and talk to them about it. My thoughts would be that you wouldnt be able to run nitrous with a custom tune for a stock engine. Reason being is one of the main things they do in those tunes is advance your timing, with nitrous you will need to retard your stock timing.

If you had the right components without a tune you could easily run a 50shot.

Im not sure i would run the juice with these crappy spark plugs. I hear from the Mustang world that they dont take kindly to nos. a 50 shot may not be that big of a problem but i would want to be the first to try it out.

I have heard of people taking the three valve head and machining it for a normal type plug but its about $700 though PLUS your cost for Removing and reinstalling the head.
