04 heritage radio size...

Hey guys,
My fiance's father is looking to have a cassette player in his truck. So we are getting him one for christmas. I won't see the truck before then, but it is a 04 heritage XLT supercab. Any ideas on what size he has in there? I think it's a 1.5 din but I'm not sure. I'm hoping that I can get a cd/cassette combo in the one hole.

even though you posted in the right fourm since you are talking about an 2004 F-150 and this is a fourm for 2004-2006 f-150's, but since you are talking about the heritage modle, you will have better luck if you post in the "pre-1997" fourm where your answer should be answered pretty fast. This fourm here is mostly just for the new body style F-150's.

Goodluck!

He did not post it in the right forum!! His thread title clearly says " 04 heritage radio". This forum is for the new body style F-150's. 04 heritage means the 97-04 older body style models . Therefore it is in the wrong forum.

Seeing as how there is no '97-'04 Heritage F150 forum...

Anyways, you'll need an adapter plate from someone like Scosche to fit a standard single DIN radio in a Heritage F150. I put a CD player in my dad's '97 a while ago with one of these, Wally World has 'em, they're like $15 bucks or so.

I post in that forum and they tell me it's the wrong forum.

I'll try the headunit forum. Either way, what I am after is a stock headunit that has both cassette and CD. Does ford make one and is there one that will just pop right into his truck?

Forgot to mention he has hundreds of tapes, so it isn't worth updating his collection. And he has no interest in improving sound quality. I know that there has to be some version of a ford 1.5 din that will pop right in there. I just can't figure out what.

uh huh. I'd rather spend the $50 on swapping out the radio. We decided to not get it for him for xmas. To much research. Instead of an xmas present. We'll probably just talk to him after the holidays and figure something else out, maybe a tape deck and a cd changer. Or show him how to use his own cd burner.
