Again you are the only person I have EVER heard say late model Chevys are notorious for engine fires. I just did a Google search and came up with NOTHING. Do one on the vibration issues with late model F150s!

GM lost a lot with employee discounts, and now their 4th quarter looks HORRIFIC (big reason for the "red tags." Ford and Dodge didn't come close to losing that much with their same deals. No red tags there.
OK WTF does that have to do with lack of technology...the REASON you said GM was going bankrupt??? Gas prices put all new car sells (except hybrids) into a tail spin. GM, Ford and Chrysler all responded with "employee pricing". I don't know how much more GM lost than Ford or Chrysler per car, but at any rate THAT ALONE didnt put them in the red. Your ramblings here make no sense...if your going to respond at least respond in a way that continues the discussion that had been raised on TECHNOLOGY. I would have found it quite fun talking engine technology with someone driving a truck with a 300cu.in. I-6!!!

It's not like someone compared a stripped down RAM with 20's to an HD. That's like comparing a stripped down, 4-cylinder Fusion to a 6 cylinder loaded Mercury Milan .
ACTUALLY...you could NOT get 20s on a stripped down Ram. It had to be a Laramie (Dodges answer to the Lariat...thats the fancy version with leather and other nice stuff in case you didn't know XLT boy)with certain options to even be able to get the 20in wheel option. Not that it matters...you said Dodge was the first to offer them and you were wrong by about 3 years. Following your mind set, why did Ford put them on the HD...to cover up the fact they were selling a rebadged Lariat with absolutly no mechanical upgrades from standard for about $5K more than it usually costs? Tell me exactly how the HD truck was any different than a standard Lariat other the wheels, bumpers, badges and different leather. SO really they are not "markedly" different trucks at all. (I am not downing the HD scabs....they looked awsome. I am just making a point.)

If you've got an inside connection, I wouldn't mind using you as a source when I'm ready to buy or someone asks me what I've heard about a certain car or upcoming car that would be better than what they're currently looking at possibly purchasing.
Well let me tell you something BOY...from what you have written I wouldn't take advise from you as to which toilet paper to wipe me a$$ with. That is unless a friend of your grandfather owns a port-a-potty dealership and your "Big Time in the know" about **** too.

Hey Fellas,

There is significant truth to GM financial problems. It is not just making the bottom line but rather "book keeping" issues that will become apparent over the next year. The Government has already filed charges against GM based on findings from there yearly audits.

Sorry I can only tell you what has been released, even if it hasn't been publized in the news, it has been released by the Government and is available for news agencies to print. GM PR has just been awesome at hiding the story thus far. As further information is made publically available, I will provide it to you guys.

Thanks,

Duke

One thing I have noticed that there is more Chevy guys going to a Ford, then Ford guy going to Chevy. There is a lot of die hard Chevy guys out there that would say they would never drive a Ford. I think some people are just rasied that way because there dad was GM and his dad was GM.

First of all I'm a Ford guy. Was raised in a Ford house and still bleed blue oval blue. But I am driving a Silverado currently and am happy with the truck. As has been stated over and over there are pros and cons to both. The biggest pro to the Chevy right now is discounting as it basically is a 7year old design (1999) and GM has to give bigger rebates to move iron; that's why the General got my $$ this time--better deal. There is no doubt that the Ford has a much nicer interior and heavier frame. In my personal experience the GM 5.3 does get better mileage than my 01 Screw's 5.4 did. (I don't have any experience with the new 3V 5.4's.) It is true that GM is redesigning their trucks which are to be out sometime in late 2006. Here's a spy picture, hard to tell much:

They are set to release their updated Tahoe in January and this might give a clue to what future GM fullsize trucks will look like. The interior will be better (maybe not up to f-150 standards) but much better than currently. If you are going to buy NOW drive both and just make your decision on your experience. Stay away from the Japanese (Toyota and Nissan) and either way your more than likely to be satisfied. Good luck.

Well if an X Plan pin helps ya PM me and let me know, I would ask your salesperson how much of a difference it will make first. I'd rather see you in a Ford than anything else and if that's what it takes then that's what needs to be done.

Also I think Ford put a little more cash on the hood of those things (Holiday Cash) check on that too.

I've had 5 or 6 Fords over the years, ranging from an '85 Escort to my current '04 F150 and have never had any problems with any of my vehicles (something many of my friends with Chevys could never say). So, I'm going to keep on sticking with the Fords!!!
