4WDH won't go to 2WD and Headliner is Rattling - TSBs? Help Plz!

Hey Guys,

So I have two problems that I need to get taken care of ASAP. Can someone (Quintin) point me to the correct and up-to-date TSBs on these problems?

1. The headliner is rattling like crazy. I first had this looked at when we first reported the TSB on F150online.com. However, it’s sense come back apart and I’d like to know the most up-to-date TSB on it so I can make sure it’s done right this time. I remember reading that the TSB changed along with the procedures for fixing it.

2. Sometimes the truck won’t come out of 4WD hi (not low). Just now it wouldn’t come out of 4WD when I put it in 2WD. I got it back in 2WD by going in a straight line in reverse for 10 feet. I really don’t want to have to drive in reverse every time that I pull it out of 4WD. Is there a TSB or didn’t this happen to someone else and their dealer found the common problem?

Thanks for the info guys! It’s just I’ll get the “it’s normal” speech from the dealer unless I show that I’m an informed customer.

Sounds like the 4x4 problem could be a vacuum line problem.

Ok, I'll mention that part. Anyone heard about a TSB for the 4X4?

What about that headliner TSB?

Quintin, you out there bud?

???

Whats a TSB?

I just got my truck back from the dealer yesterday. They replaced the solenoid for a similar problem. My was worse. It would not go in to 4x4 easily, and when it eventually engaged, the 4x4 light would blink. Then it would have issues coming out of 4x4.

The dealer took care of it and it seems to be working fine...thankfully. WOuld be a long new enlgand winter without 4x4.

The headliner thing hasn't changed any, it's only been supplemented to include '06 Mark LTs now. As far as the 4x4 stuff goes, there's no TSBs I can see regarding not coming out of a specific position, but it sounds like a vacuum hub problem. I try to avoid 4WD stuff like the plague, mainly 'cause I ain't that good at it. heh.

lol, thanks Q! I'll talk to them about the 4X4 problem. I'll also do a search and try to find that thread where you mentioned the TSB on the headliner, this way it'll get fixed the right way and not fall apart again in a couple months.
