2006 Lariat

Hey everyone,

Great site. I am close to purchasing a 2006 Lariat 4x4. I have read many posts about vibration, sluggishness and a/c heat problems in 2004 and 2005 model years. Many have had problems resolved with flash updates and service. Are these problems still showing up in the 2006 model year? Thanks in advance.

I have a 2006 Lariat 4x4 also.
So far(2 months into)I haven't had any of those problem's.
The only problem I am experiencing, is a shuttering from 1st to 2nd gear change.
It goes in next week.

Goodluck on the purchase and don't forget the pics after!!!

We'll definitely be expecting pictures as soon as you do get your truck. You'll love the Lariat. I know that I love my 04. Start thinking about accessories/upgrades yet?

Many '04s and '05s don't have any of the problems you mentioned. Just make sure you do a good test drive on the truck before you buy. Congrats and good luck on your purchase.

2004 Lariat - No Problems at 25000 miles

I have been reading this site for quite a while now. I have read some posts about vibration and slugishness. I have never had the vibe problems. As far as my truck being slugish, in my opinion, no. There are some guys here who think so, but this is a huge truck. I pass people with no problem, and I not going to race anytime soon.
If you think about it, there are more that 1.5 million of these trucks out there. (2004-2006). I've probably seen a hundred different people posting about the vibe. That may even be an exagerated number. But let's say even if there were a thousand, that's still 0.05% of the trucks out there. So it's all relative.

Now if there were that many complaints of a problem on the Titan web site, that would equal about 50% of all the those trucks out there.

As far as this grill goes; I wouldn't.. I had one like that on my 02 Screw Lariat. Didn't like it. Just never looked right.

Your problem picking between the westin and the ebay bull bars, well im in the same situation. Ive had the westin, loved it. That ebay "nudge" bar seems pretty nice. I like the cut-out f-150, but I think the westin would keep its high luster finish for a longer time. The westin is Chrome plated stainless, where as the ebay nudge bar is just SS. Tough choice..
