I am having my FRD04AUX PIE adaptor installed in my '04 and noticed that either it or the factory stereo does not output true stereo. Only the red input on the PIE unit actually sends audio to the head unit. The white one does nothing. I am getting signal to both the right and left outputs of the Sirius unit and when I plug in the red or white wire to the red input of the PIE it outputs sound to both the left and right speakers in the car, but obviously it cannot be real stereo. The PIE unit seems to be working right and I am getting sound out of both the right and left speakers from my head unit, but I am getting it with only one input connected to the PIE.

Perhaps someone with the PIE should try to use the balance adjustment on their head unit when the Aux button is active.........on mine, with the balance in the middle I get sound out of both the right and left speakers. But when I turn the balance to the left I get no sound at all.....with it turned to the right I get sound out of the right only. Weird.

 

Are you sure? Like I said, I get sound through both the left and right sets of speakers, so it would seem like stereo, but it is not. The PIE unit seems to only take signal from the right input on the PIE unit. See my post above for details.

If you unplug your left (white) input on your PIE unit does it stop the sound out of the left speakers of your F150?

What happens when you have the AUX button active and you set the balance control to the left?
