An FYI on rear slider....

Just thought I would post some info I was told on these power rear slider's. Mine was replaced last week for the second time for intermittant operation. The tech in my shop asked me how often I used it and I said just once in a while. Well it turns out that is the problem. He showed me where the motor itself was slightly corroded inside. Apparently if you don't use it much this is what happens. We are now recommending to our customers to open and close it at least once a week to prevent this. My thinking is the back of the cab has vents in it and moisture etc is getting in that way. Just a thought for you guys up north, even though its cold as he!! now you may want to cycle that window often or it will quit working.

I was curious how the Magnaflow sounds with the back window open.. sounds good, I'd imagine?

Thanks for the tip. I don't use mine a heck of a lot. So far haven't had any issues with it.

Dealership told me the same thing. But....I really never use it. To darn hot, leave the A/C on.

Now it doesn't work, have to take it in for repair. This is the only problem I've had with my 05 KR Supercrew in 20K miles. Yes, I'll start opening and closing the window now, after repair.

Heck... it must be nice to live somewhere that you can utilize it every day....

I love mine but, at around 28 degrees outside, she's staying closed. LOL!

Same here. It's -10 out right now, and I don't feel like freezing. My dealership can just get comfortable with fixing it often then. It's their fault anyhow. I wanted a truck with a solid rear window and defroster. They could never find one with the options I wanted and said they wouldn't order it either. So the only thing I gave in on was the rear window.

If they refused to order me a truck then I would have found another dealer. I always order, don't like the fact someone else might have sit in my truck.

this will be the second time mines gone out- its not the motor, they just need to regrease the track...again. my window was exhibiting the exact symptoms, they disassembled my window, replaced the motor, and it still did it- so they put original back in regreased, and works fine...have to keep it moving to keep it lubed & motor functional.

only 28 RP!! aww come on man! it was 3/-13 WC. this morn- pushed mine open to get a little breeze in the cab... hahaaa-

The rear slider is definitely one of the best factory options availble. I try to use it every chance I get. No problems here......so far. As for the Magnaflow sound with it open, my SISO rear sounds GREAT!
