I got an ipod shuffle for christmas, would I be able to use it in the truck? I have a 2004 xlt that has the factory 6 disc changer radio unit, but I don't think it has mp3 capability. If the shuffle would work w/ my setup, how do I do it? Do I have to buy an adapter that you're talking about and connect it somehow to the radio? Is it in the back of the radio or something?

No. This is just designed to work with the iPod.

I couldn't wait until March, so I started calling the local dealers of Peripheral. I called one, gave them my make and model (05' Screw), and they told me they just sold out...is it possible that it's out already? Anyone else found one for our generation truck?

I don't know. Did you check the website? www.ipod2car.com
I gave up and just got a new Alpine deck that is iPod compatable. For not too much more than the cost of the adapter I figured I might as well upgrade the deck and get better sound quality while I'm at it.

I did check the website...I didn't find any indication that they were even thinking of making an iPod2Car for our trucks.

Just lead me to believe that the website / pdf was not up to date.

I'll let you guys know if/when I get my hands on one.

I know that they have one in development for sure. I have emailed them several times and they are usually quick to reply. Let me know what you find out. I'm no longer looking for one, but am still interested.

The quality from an FM transmitter is nowhere near the quality you get from a direct connection.

Yeah, it's for the single CD only I believe.

Tardman,

Did the sales guy tell you that the latest generation iPod2Car will only work with the non-6disc deck?

I saw that this was the case (in their documentation) for the previous generations (01-04), but I thought that may be because these didn't have an aux input.

Thanks,
-Kris

iPod2Car update

For those who are interested in the iPod2Car, I spoke to a salesman from AAMP yesterday.

He tells me that they are late in releasing the iPod2Car for our generation F-150's.

He expects that they'll be out around May.

I gave up and just purchased the PIE unit. Sounds awesome. Can't tell difference from CD's now. Wow!

I bought the Belkin cup holder mount. That way I can remove all trace of the iPod when necessary.

I'll take some pictures some day soon.

I think all of the adapters coming out only work with the Ipods with a dock connector.
