push button start

okay so i am getting a little ballsy after babyin my truck for a bit. I want to do more mods to my truck but finances are not appropriate so I figured I would do do a push button start. Here is what I want to do... 1st I want to put a switch like a friend of mine did on his Superduty. The switch was basically like an ignition kill. He could still use the radio and everything but the ignition wouldn't turn. So I want one of those then I want to put a push start button. (On a side note do think the dealer would ***** their pants if they saw it?) Also I want to possible put a switch to negate the push start button. LASTLY if I was driving and someone got the bright idea to push my start button would it turn the starter? Any is there anyway to negate that so when it is on the switch is disabled? Okay well that is my idea and plan to hop on it as soon as someone can provide me schematics. :o It can't be tooo expensive. A few switches and wires? I am confident that someone can whip up the plans seeing as people know the trucks like the back of their hands. Thanks in advance guys!

I've been thinking of this too. Question is what starter button do I use. I did an S2000 button in my old 93 Miata and worked out great. Button is useless until you put the key and place it in the on position. Cool mod. Wiring should be a no brainer. I'm open for ideas on starter buttons. The Lexus IS350 button is pretty cool.

When my XMAS flyer from Moss came they also sent me the one for the mustang. In there is a cool looking starter button. You should be able to use it on the trucks too, why not? They also had some cool looking toggle switches for other add ons. Have a look on the website.

My old 1950 chev pickup has a push button starter on it! Who wuda thunk it, a mod 55 years ahead of its time!

YES!!! I was thinking in the back of my mind that you would. Do you think you could help me with the wiring? Also do my wiring ideas sound plausible?

The GT starter linked about should be a PERFECT FIT for the coin holder in the 4x2s. Hmmm.....

I actually like the idea of it being on the left hand side, that way it is key in, twist, start with left hand. Like the s2k.

Put the start button where the light switch is and move the light switch down on the kick panel.

nice idea. my guess would be to pull apart the column and trace the wires leading to and from the igtion switch the other thing is that they might be labels on the wires themselves look and see and if they do have writing just cut the two wires u need another about ur question about the accdental pushing of the botton while the truck is running yes it would turn on the starter but u can put in a switch with a cover or another switch down the line to stop it from happening. ill look for a diagram online.
