Bye Bye Hangooks, Hello Revos

Well after some issues of abnormal wear on my tiny 235/70/17 Hangooks, I finally decided on some 265/70/17 Revos...and man do they look sick!

The price was the only thing holding me back, but I have heard nothing but good things out of these tires. I went to the local Firestone dealer and asked if they would price match, he said sure. I showed him the TireRack price of $137(but didnt show him the shipping charges of $84). He said that was pretty low, and after some persuasion he gave me the price of $137 per tire! He originally was asking $180 per tire. I thought that was a damn good deal, then $10 for mount/balance, kept my old tires just in case and I was out the door. These Revos are extremely quiet and smooth at high speeds and seem to perform great. My truck would easily over power my old tires when braking at high speeds and you could feel the flex of the tires, anyone who has seen how thin the sidewalls really are knows what Im talking about.

Anyway, 265/70/17 fills the wheel wells great, and looks really good imho. Let me know what ya'll think. Later

Thanks guys. I was originally planning on some FX4 take offs, but like my current rims. If I had plain aluminum or chrome clad I would have taken some FX4 wheels. But to me the bright machined paint accent alum wheels look good, especially against the silver truck.

My Generals on my 05 lasted 310 miles and replaced them with the Revos. They now have 4100 on them and it was one of the smarter things I have done. Quiter, no vibration, and much better wet traction. Waiting to see how they work in the snow, but nothing could be worse than the Generals. I did mine for $592.00 out the door for the same size. The only complaint is that the 265 are the biggest they make for the 17" rim.

Plus they look good also.

Friend of mine put revos on his S-10 around this time last year. He drives it hard and they are just starting to wear enough to tell they're not new.

I put Revos on my '05 Scab after about 200 miles. Luckily I work for the company that makes them so they were a straight across trade for the Hankooks, but I would have paid to do it if I'd had to.

I had the 17" OEM Goodyears on my '97 Scab and they almost fell apart at 40k miles. Another set got me to 80k. Revos lasted until I traded it at 150k. Damn fine tires.

We are always slow to put new sizes in the lineup. The first set of tires I put on my '97 with 17s were Goodyears because we still weren't making that size.

From what I have heard 18" Duelers will be available before the end of 2006, A/T Revos first and H/Ls after that.

Dude the Chrome rims are better then those painted ones. They cost more and they look better. I like the chrome because it matches the bumpers nicely plus with my 285s the chrome looks good. When i purchased my truck I wanted the painted accent ones but untill the fleet guy was like look at the chrome i decided they are better.

Glad you got what you wanted, I PERSONALLY think the machined aluminum looks more high class than the clad wheels, but again thats just my opinion. I like the 5 spoke style also.
