Engine toast update

World ford (Florida) will pick up the tab for the rental. They will have my truck for 2 weeks. They are going to replace the engine with a factory fresh motor. Thanks for all your input some of it was very interesting. Now to see if I can get my dry cleaner to give me a loaner while he cleans my shirt.

Right... the old dry cleaner argument. I am still trying to figure out how taking a shirt that you stained by your own doing to a place that only offers cleaning services and did not sell you the shirt is analogous to taking a vehicle that was defective through not fault of your own to a manufacturer's place of business, considering the manufacturer offered you a warranty against defects when it sold you the vehicle.

So, does this mean you will never buy another Ford?

Or have you changed your mind?

glad to hear it worked out. Thought it would. Never had a problem getting a loaner from my dealer. Of course i don't abuse it either. If it's just a one day job and I don't need the vehicle, I don't bother. But a 2 week job would require a loaner. Hope the new motor works out.

When I would take my Acura in for oil changes they would send me over to the inhouse Enterprise and send me on my way. Call a few hours later and I would come back and pickup my car.

They had free Starbucks in the waiting room also. The best service I have ever encounted was from Acura dealers. Although all I ever had them do was maintenance work.

World Ford huh? Gave up on them when it took a week to figure out a leak in the 3rd break light. Glad they at least gave you the rental though. Good to see everything is going to work out for you. Keep us updated!

Smart ***. Must have have come out that way by accident. I would never associate them with anything being broken I better watch my spelling from here on in though. Never know who could be watching! It might matter some day!

Oh and to narrow it down, my experience was with World Ford of Pembroke Pines. Decent customer care, horrible service. Besides the week long repair for the brake light. They gave me the run around on every other TSB I needed adressed. I could never get a straight answer about anything wrong with my truck. I didnt have a leg to stand on till I found this site and all the info you guys post. Anyhow good luck and keep us posted.

Well after some research, I finally settled on Sawgrass Ford in Sunrise. I know its a little bit of a drive (I live in the Hollywood area myself...) But my service has been excellent. I have one guy I go to and he takes care of me really well. Any thing my truck needed has usually been taken care of the very same day.And let me tell you, Ive had some strange bugs in my truck. Rentals arent always really a given though. However the fact they are so helpful and easy to work with says alot. Simply put,the wife will be in need of a new vehicle soon. Guess where Im going... If you want his name just drop me a line. Hope this helps.
