GCAT part numbers

I am looking to add power seats to my XLT. I asked my dealer to look up the parts I need but they were less than cooperative. So I asked them to give me the GCAT print out of the seat. All the online parts venders say the part numbers I am entering are invalid, I think I am missing parts of the numbers. What I have found is that I need <61710 and 14A699 but like I said I am not sure about this.

I can help maybe a little. If you look at the GCAT print out, at the upper left hand portion of the sheet, if there are symbols, i.e. $ = <61710, then whatever part below in the schematic that has a $ next to it means that everyone of those parts come WITH the 61710 part number. Same goes for any other symbols used such as #, @, or %. Since your truck is a 2005, the part number prefix will most likely be 5L3Z, or comparable. I've noticed the 2006 part numbers, at least some, start with 6L3Z. Soooo, as an example the 61710 part number may look something like this, 5L3Z-61710-AA. The part number ending, could be anything and I'm not sure what Ford's pattern is, but AA could be AB, BA, AAA, AAB , BAA, etc. AA in a part number could be one side, say a drivers seat, while AB in the part number could be the passengers seat, if you get my drift. What I've said above are only my observations that I've made and should be taken with a grain of salt

The number in the corner of the page $ = <600A58B. I guess this is why we have parts people in our dealership. Kinda like decoding the DaVinci code. I hear what your saying about the 6L3Z thing, thats what all the HD parts start with.

I ain't a parts guy, but here's what I know. 14A699 sounds like a wiring harness of some type or another. 61710 sounds like a seat track or motor or something, but that's missing the vehicle body prefix. For instance, 22300 (I think) is a generic number for a window regulator, but a 5422300 may be a window regulator for a Town Car or something like that, since 54 is the generic body prefix for the full frame rear drive cars.

FX4&EXCURSION is on the right track as well, except to throw you another curve ball, 6L3Z doesn't necessarily mean that it's exclusively for an '06 model year vehicle. Often times during the parts cycle, parts are upgraded to the newer model year equivalent, so it's not unheard of to see 6L-numbers searching for stuff for '04 model year vehicles, or whatever the year may be. I'll check with my parts goons tomorrow and see if I can dig some more info up for you.
