Thinking about getting an Audiophile sub. . .

Im thinking about upgrading and just buying the factory Audiophile subwoofer. Whats everyones opinion on it? How much should I pay to get one in good condition? Does anyone know how many watts it is? How hard would it be to install? Any pictures of it mounted? I know this would all be covered in a simple search but for some reason right now whenever I search for anything, nothing comes up. So the help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

Have you heard a audiophile equipped truck?

It has a decent sound for factory, but I don't think I would go in search of the audiophile sub as a upgrade.

Why not just get one of the custom sub boxes and 2 10's?

I got an aftermarket box with one 10'' kicker sub already in it for 140 shipped of ebay and it doesn't sound that bad. It actually sounds good but my past car was a civic and I had a pair of jl audios in there and well those would take your breath away. I am very satisfied with it and would recommend it if you are looking for good sound quality.

Yes and it would be a perfect fit and easy to install. (bolts to the wider rear seat floor brackets with 3 bolts). I have it it mine and for a factory system it kicks... literally.

If you have any knowledge of stereo wiring it should be very easy to wire up. I added the center console factory sub in my Jeep Rubicon and it took about 15 minutes to interface the wiring on it.

How many cubic feet is the stock audiophile box. If you could get one dirt cheap, you could replace the stock sub with a good one depending on the air space. That way you get a good factory fitting sub box. I think it's just an 8" sub, you could pick up a decent brand name 8" for $100.

Better then that.. you can get an RE 8" for around $55.. RE is perfect for that size enclosure, and they kick nicely.

Not sure about that.. I believe the factory sub and amp use a harness that plugs right into the factory HU..

As far as watts, it's not much.. 100 maybe? I can't remember off the top of my head..

I did this upgrade and had to upgrade the headunit. The factory amp on the sub is only 85 watts but the air space is great and it shakes the whole truck. I am very happy with it, although I don't want to go boom boom down the street. It helps to equalize the stereo nicely. I just need to upgrade to components up front and I will be set. I want the Infinity but they are like 249.00

Thump, i'm 23, and i like my music a lot and loud, mostly rock, but i also enjoy some local bands that are rap/rock oriented. I have always had full blown "systems" in my trucks but opted for the audiophile in this truck b/c i was planning on a child. (it's a girl i just found out) At low volume it's almost undectable, but turn it up a little and it's REALLY clean. Not too much or too little. you can hear it outside the cab, but it won't annoy other motorists. Or more importantly, the police.
I have been told by just about all that heard it "are you sure thats stock?" Just my $.02

Just for the record, I've seen the audiophile sub as low as $50..

I need to find out if I have the audiophile HU.. anyway to do this without taking the dash apart and pulling out the HU?
