I think you wait till the auction gets down and see if you get them for less than the BIN price. You see a picture of them so you know what they are. Paypal is the way to go. If you dont get what's pictured then you file a claim. I like the price so i say go for it. Whats ford asking for them again?

I had to file a complaint through both Ebay and Pay pal due to a seller reposting an auction that I won and paid for, no real help from either. Ebay did refund some of the money but there is a cap on that. Paypal was totally no help at all.

As for as that guy's feed back, I would not mess with him if you can't see and pay for them in person. That is my two cents. I would rather take a chance on a 0 feedback than his. I have purchased several things off of Ebay and have had only that issue. My truck was an ebay purchase! That big of a purchase has to feel good all the way or just wait for another to come along. With ebay you can rest easy with the fact that another will be there sooner or later. Whatever you decide good luck!!

I probably have more experience both buying and selling than anybody else on here (check my feedback: (My Feedback Profile) ) so I guess I should throw in my 2 cents worth.

First of...with this seller you ARE NOT covered by the PayPal Buyer Protection coverage with this auction. See the little blue PayPal info box under the "seller info" box....it says "Shop without sharing your financial details". If this seller qualified for the Buyer Protection it would say "Free PayPal Buyer Protection" there....like it does in this auction (one of my old closed auctions): Lift Kit Auction . 99% of the people don't realize this and think they are always covered if they pay with PayPal, but in order to have that coverage the seller has to meet several fairly high standards. Even if this seller qualified your only covered up to $1000 with the Buy Protection...as it is Ebay only covers you up to $200.

As for this sellers feedback its certainly not that bad for what he is selling. Most of his feedback is for fairly high dollar (several hundred dollars) used equipment. The fact that he can please 96% of the people he is selling used equipment to is pretty good IMO, and take it from me some people are impossible to please. He does a pretty high volume sells so he is not going to jepordize his business by ripping you off on purpose. I would trust the guy to send the wheels...I would contact him again and see how he plans to package them though. He probably has no experiance shipping tires and wheels and may just roll them on the truck and hope they get there. In that case you can bet they will be messed up. What he needs to do is place a 23in circle of cardboard over the rim then rap the entire rim and tire up tight with shrink wrap to protect them. If he agrees to do this then you should be fine.

Look at it this way, its a small gamble that offers a nice reward if you win. I personaly think as long as he ships them right you will be fine. I wouldn't be scared to buy them from him if I wanted them...let me take that back, I would be scared a little but would do it. I think the risk is worth the savings in this case. A perfect example is this auction I won the other night Swarvoski Rifle Scope , its close to a $1000 rifle scope for $450...the seller had some questionable feedback but also had some positives from selling simular items lately. I figured the deal was worth the risk...and will be a little worried until the scope gets here but I am sure it will.
One thing you can do is pay through PayPal using your credit card rather than a bank draft or existing funds and as a last resort you can reverse the charges that way...its messy but you wont be out any money (although your PayPal account will be cancled since you said you would not do that in your user aggrement with them).

As for waiting and not using the Buy It Now...again thats a gut call. With BIN he is paying the $200 to ship...so the BIN is really only $250 more than the opening bid. And with close to 400 people already looking at them I would suspect somebody already has it in mind to bid at the last minute on them. So you MAY wind up paying more for them if you waite and bid than you would with the BIN...again its a gamble thing (maybe thats why I like Ebay so much). Personaly if it was me and I really wanted them I would BIN (whats $250 when your talking about $2000) but if you were willing to miss getting them in hopes of getting a good deal then waite and bid.

ONE LAST THING...FX4 or anybody else that uses ebay a lot let me recommend www.auctionsniper.com . It works GREAT. You just put in your Ebay info when you sign up and if there is an auction you want to snipe you put in how much your willing to pay and it bids on it for you in the last 5 seconds or so. It really works great if your not going to be home when an auction ends. If anyody does sign up for it (which is free and you get 3 free snipes) I would apprecaite it if you would put me (97ramsst) down as recommending you so I can get 3 free snipes too!

RAM, EXCELLENT info. Thanks very much. I decided to pass on these. I realized that I haven't seen these rims in person and feel I should do that first to make sure I REALLY like them.

FX4,

You havent seen the new Harley? How should I put this? Hows that? The rims are sharp. Believe me. Anybody down in S. Fla just check out Maroone Ford of Pompano. I was stuck in traffic on the way to a job site and there she was right beside me on display. Damn was I tempted to trade up.

Im keeping an eye out for these wheels also. Itll be a bit before I can actually afford them but they are most definately on the list. FX, I say go for it man. If not this set than another when they show up. You've gone this far with your clone, no sense in stopping now. Its going to look badass when your done.

Besides, I cant afford all the Harley parts right now so Im having fun and learning through your experiences.

Later,

Luis S

Asking the membership on this Board will not make the eBay participants any more honest or any more devious. You're really on your own as far as condition of end product, does the product really exist, and will the seller ship them. A reprimand from eBay to a devious seller is just words to the devious seller. With big cash in hand the seller really does not care about the buyer's feelings.

Not quite true...if you can prove to ebay you paid for an item and the seller can't prove he shipped it Ebay will suspend his account...its not just words. Ebay is on the line for up to $175 everytime a seller rips somebody off and they take that very seriously. There entire company is based on keeping things safe for buyers so seller intergrity is no joke with them. Granted you can get ripped off but thats usually by either a new seller or a seller that has hacked into someones account (look for good deals that are too good to be true and usually they are), but an established seller will not throw away years of feedback history to rip you off. A feedback rating of 700 or so with even a 96% rating is worth way more than $2000 to this seller. I wouldnt sell my feedback rating for $5000 because when I sell something it brings a premium over just about everybody else with an identicle item just because they can look at my feedback feel certain they will not get ripped off.

Looks like I was right about the BIN price...they are at $2300 + $200 shipping (maybe $250 depending on where the guy lives). The BIN price was $2250 shipped.

Fuzzy,

Do you got a link or something to thier site? I might consider those at that price. What was your total with tires and wheels?

Thanks,

Luis S
