That is a silly comment considering it does not work and wont without major time and vehicle modification, that being the case an Etch A Sketch velcroed to the dash would be even cheaper and just as effective as a Ford OEM unit in a vehicle without proper sensors, harnesses, etc.

I dont know about your time but mine is worth some money. So a aftermarket unit will sells for a grand or slightly over, get a $15 dash kit, $10 a harness, some routing of the antenna, and 1 hour later your done with a more cost effective solution IMO.

Sometimes when people try to take the least expensive route it turns out to be twice as much in the long run.

FX4ME2, if this thing gets figured out, we are going to have two to do. I'd love to have the navigation and not lose the 6 disc in dash., by the way, I will be installing the alpine door speakers tomorrow, when do you want your keg?

I looked into this very idea 5 weeks ago and this is what I can up with after talking with Ford and some very good stereo installers.

The ones out of the 02 03 EXPEDITION will work in the 99-03 F-150
but after that we are screwed due too the can-bus system Ford now uses.
It looks like they use the vehicles computer as well.

Why don't you post a pic of the unit frt. & back.
