As for getting stuck in 2wd, I drive a lot in the mud in 2wd and as soon as I feel I'm about to get stuck, I slam it into 4hi and reverse out. I've learned my lesson after nobody could pull my 6,000lb *** out the other weekend. I hang out with Jeep's :X

The 87 saw 4Lo many times but mostly in the hole we nic-named the pine tree hole and at the local mud bog. She never made a complete run in the bog but did make it all the way to the end where she could not pull the rear end out after 185ft of mud madness. She didn't need 4wd for the normal play stuff but it wasn't a stock (8" suspension, 3" body, 39.5" Swamper Boggers, 4.56's gears, heads, cam & intake for the 351W) truck either.

I have yet to take my 05 offroad because I'm unfamilar with the local spots in my area. One of the biggest advantages I had when I was younger was I knew the area and I knew which hole would go from light to heavy mud.

You should be able to do fine with a 2wd just don't take any chances and pay attention to what is going on around you with other trucks. I found it helpful to sometimes just drop down in one side of the rut to gauge how deep things are going to get. Always bring a friend and invest in a good tow strap (not a chain) if you plan to go very often.

Well I took my Lariat off roading in some pretty rough terrain. Some mud, rocks, climbs, ditches, standing water, creeks, etc. The trail I went on said ATV or 4x4s only. I didnt take pics while on the trail (my mistake) but I thought it was pretty rugged.

I got through 90% of it in 2WD. I could have made it through with out 4wd when I used it but I figured why bother.

You can see the aftermaths (muddy lariat) in my gallery.

Word.... ......when ever I take my truck to the dunes, mountain trails, or up to the snow, I hardly ever use 4wd. I have NEVER been stuck! I that it was 10x's more fun in 2wd than 4wd!!!

have fun cleaning it? It took me days, sprinklers for the undercarriage, wheel removal for the brakes...hours and hours of work but it was fun.

I was stuck in the middle of nowhere! YAY! while walking in the rain down random unpopulated roads, I found some guys fishing that had a 4wd chevy! SCORE! come to find out... his 4wd wasn't working! haha MY LUCK! he ended up getting me out after a couple of good jerks with a tow strap and logging chain... in the mean time almost getting stuck himself and throwing about 4 inches of mud all over my truck! I loved the looks I got when I pulled into the carwash! hahaha

*wishes she had 4wd/ yet happy she doesn't*

assess the situation properly, i wouldn't suggest going out in the rain... keep to dry stuff when your by yourself!

Its a thing called "Air Suspension" here is my old truck, I drove it in and out of driveways, over sppedbumps and pot holes in the road and everything. all the air bags aired up, it lifted up to about stock height.

Laying Frame, and supercharged with 3-15" subwoofers

How many times were you pulled over driving that thing (honestly). My buddy with the 22's in my gallery (white lowered chevy), must smell like donuts. He has 6 tickets and is always the one the cops go after if he's racing someone. It happened once when I raced him. It was myself, a beater rx-7 and him, cops went his way and pulled him over, we weren't even followed. I have a feeling things will change when I lift

The only thing a 4WD is good for is getting you into more trouble farther in the hole than 2WD, HA!

I have gone off roading in my 05 two wheel drive. If things get too bad air down to about 5 psi and you can go almost anywhere. Also it does help with the limited slip.
