Talking New truck

Well I traded in my old 2000 and bought a new 2005 xlt reg cab 4x2 with the 5.4 V8. I can't believe the night and day differences between my old one and the new one.

I have an '05 4x2 Standard Cab Shortbox that is set-up with the 5.4 engine and a 3.73 Limited Slip rear end.

I recently had to borrow a co-workers '01 4x2 Super Cab Long Box with the 5.4 and was amazed at how much quicker that old truck was!

Kind of made me wish I had bought one of the last of the old body style trucks for all the extra uumph!

Congrats. I am new to the F150 scene. I had a 93 Ranger, and now I have a 04 SuperCab FX4. Purchased 2 weeks ago. I can't believe how comfortable these trucks are and quiet. It's great.

I'm in a similar situation as you... a week ago we traded in our '97 Expy for an '06 Super Crew. If that wasn't enough of a change we went from an XLT (Expy) to a Lariat. It's nice to see how the other half has been living I could get really used to the leather, heated seats, climate control, etc....

Congrats and enjoy your new truck.

Hey!! A fellow Houstonian!! Nice truck, I have the same truck as you but Red. I was very dissapointed in the power until I got my programmer.... if you haven't got one already you should, you won't be dissapointed. You ever thought about running your truck at the track in Baytown (just for fun).... lots of trucks out there.

Congrats!!

I know what you mean. I had a 1995 Eddie Bauer F150 Scab 5.8 and loved it. Then I bought my 2000 F150 Scab 5.4 and thought it was night and day. Not taking anything away from my '95, but the 2000 was so much nicer drive. Then I bought my 2004 Screw and it was night and day from my 2000. Ford trucks just keep getting better.
