homelink mod gone bad, now, need replacement cover!
Well, tried to do the homelink mod a la Bamorris2 and need a new cover. This is the cover that goes between the map lights.
Any ideas of what the part number is for this? What else can be done to cover the hole?
The problem is that now that I did the hole to put the homelink xmitter, it doesnt fit because of the map lights above it. I have the whole case (including the black plastic housing) in there, and dont wanna gut the whole thing (the board seems to be well stuck and dont wanna damage it)
So now, I have a whole in my roof!
Thanks

Just this past Friday, I did the same mod on my 2nd F150 (my '05), and thankfully, all went well. I was a little nervous, though, because it is a pretty delicate operation; and I was fully aware that I may have to end up buying a new piece, like you... But it's ok...
In hindsight, if I ever do this mod again, I think I'd do it a little differently. If there is a next time, I think I'd try to mount it without using the bezel, and place the rubber button on the inside of the overhead piece, with the button protruding out from them. That way, all you'd see would be the 3 button mounted flush with the plastic... Ok, enough rambling...
Anyway, I don't think the 'pieces' that you needs would be all that expensive; you may want to get a couple, that way "if you don't succeed, try & try again"!
