OK This Gas Mileage Sucks

You are near SF so you are gonna be running PC gas, not gas mileage gas...

I get about 329 miles out of tank that holds 30 gallons. But, that doesnt mean it's totally empty when I fill up. I just usually fill up when it is a little less that a quarter tank (less shock!), or when it says "22 miles to E," or something along those lines. I'd be curious to see just how many miles I get if I were to let it run totally out, I mean carry a gas can full of gas with me and let it run till it was dry.

Guess I'll just enjoy the truck and quit tracking my MPG's, its to depressing.
I am talking about the designer blend gas. At this time of year everyones mileage drops. At any time of year our gasoline makes less horsepower per pound, again, state law. Sometime you get over to Yuma, try their gas. It's also a blend but it makes more ponies than any Kalifonia gas.
For real pep, get gas in one of the states that allows 93 octane, non-blend gas. My motorhome gets two to three miles per gallon better on Utah or Wyoming gas.
Anyway, living in a crowded metro complex like SD good mileage is pretty hard to come by.

josiah,
i hear ya, i just got back from Iowa on a 270 mile trip each way. fairly flat 75 mph, and my truck only got 14 mpg! that is with the 93 octane performance tune from troyer, AF1 intake, and Flowmaster dual exhaust. I don't know for sure what i am doing wrong, but I am going to switch to the 87 octane tune this week so i can check it on my way to KC on friday

Just went to San Diego this weekend. First trip since the install of Flowmaster 50 si/do. Got 17.5 round trip. Did the same trip about 3 weeks ago and got the same mileage without the exhaust. I did have a modified DWV intake mod. Went back to stock to check the difference. I have ordered an Airaid Jr. intake. I'll get installed this week, hopefully. I don't think it will make any difference in mileage. Next trip to San Diego I'll update.
